And I'm saying this as someone who's primarily become a gunner in both LD and PVE.
I agree, they shouldn't have announced the gunner update as they did (it's probably something they should have done 2 weeks before release), but my main gripe about it is that people forgot that the arcade redux and new T3 boss strata are coming.
So what if new guns come out? If they come out before the arcade redux/boss strata, I see either of these happening:
- Guns with different damage types come out; Half of them are ignored because they're not useful for Vana runs
- Exciting new items come out; OOO continues futile attempt to squeeze money or 'delay endgame' artificially with Radiant drop rates and people stop trying to make them
- New guns come out, people become "gunners" for like, a week or two, then go back to using brandish lines cause they're way better for less effort in both PVE and PVP.

We won't become full gunner because we don't have enough radiant for that. Even if we wanted to.
They could still put the gunner up and say "there are new bosses coming that are shadow related and elemental related. You should wait before equipping yourself with all the goodies"
IT'S THAT SIMPLE. But instead they play secrets and wanna do one big major update and each time it's delayed, more people lose patience and leave the game.
Gunner update would've kept me playing for the next month and would've let time for OOO to make the new boss or arcade and put it up while giving us info about it.
Even if SK would come up with great plan, a lot of deception already happened and you can't wipe that off with a picture of a Tortodrone...

Don't know about you guys, but the gunner update isn't going to change how I play all that much. While I do sometimes like to go full gun, I usually just Alchemer-switch anyway.
Looking at the new guns, I can honestly say they're just going to fill certain niches that the ones I already have just can't fill at the moment, at least not to their full potential.

I'm usually using 2 swords, but sometimes I'll use guns like the Argent Peacemaker or Neutralizer. I doubt that the Gunner Update will have a big impact on my play style, other than me using Gilded Griffin more than Plague Needle.
