Now... discuss that. I think if most of those systems were implemented into LD we would have a better experience for the players.
Ways to improve LD
The community is nowhere near large enough to allow for a matchmaking queue system that separates the newbies from the experienced from the Donkey Kong Contri-isms using a rank-based tier system. Plus OOO clearly doesn't want to bother with what they see as nothing more than a minigame.
How to improve Lockdown: Suck it up, it's only a game.
I don't have time to watch the video, but basically:
-Revives would need to be removed, but this would mean cutting off a marketing strategy for people that buy sparks to revive.
-People must be given a pre-made set, in which they can choose their weapon setup and class.
-Servers would need to be upgraded, so that more players can achieve four bars.
I don't see any of this happening after so many patches meant to get the company more money. Balance has never really been much of a focus on the game, unless something is incredibly overpowered. When the FF was nerfed, people thought that it was intentional. But after GMs replied, I'm almost positive it was due to a change to their servers that affected how the weapon acts.
Ok, so I think these are good ways.
-No more potato powered servers. GOOD servers instead.(I got that reference Contri.)
-Make customized lobbies. (AT,Revs,ping,etc.)
-Complaining about AT, Revs, LD Guilds, and Weapon spam, should not be allowed on forums, and can be reported if it is serious harassment.
-OOO has to pay more attention to lockdown seeing how it is one of the main things keeping this game toegther.
-PLEASE NERF ACHERON! Being killed with 2 shots of a fast weapon isn't really fair. At all.
-OOO has to be more serious with the negativity. Like a "Stop complaining or you will be banned, or we will remove LD from the game." Type of thing. That would scare players. Many MMOs do stuff like that. It is a threat but it would work.
Also, OOO should use lockdown to get them more money. Like add more maps, more accessible LD related, or helpful in LD stuff that is bought with E, Make people pay in ways that make the game funner. Add expansions that have LD abilities in them. This would make everyone happier and stuff.
I have yet to pay for the expansion, but would gladly pay for new maps OR to take Avenue out of the rotation. I swear that stage shows up like 70% of the time and is pretty bad for a lot of reasons.
Comparing SK to League is like comparing a termite to the solar system.
League is an e-Sport run by a large corporation with a large team of developers working on multiple things at once with new content being regularly pumped in, while balancing keeps old stuff from suffering to power creep. Largest playerbase in the world that has evolved past being just a game, with official world-wide tournaments being hosted for cash prizes. Hundreds of thousands of users on Twitch.tv swarm to the League streams to see their favorite professionals play. These pro players get paid a living to play Riot's game. PVP is League's main focus. The entire point of the game.
SK is a small-scale game run by a bunch of buggers in their pirate ship office on a 'when we feel like it' basis to pump out content whenever it's ready, and even then their idea of straying from power creep involves making Acheron into a lolstick and Pepperbox into a paperweight, Chaos into the go-to set and Bombastic and Mad Bomber into 'lol why did you even make that' sets. SK streams happen once in a blue moon, and even then, you might as well be playing yourself, because the playerbase is too small for you to be stuck in Bronze ELO watching your favorite Challenger tier player casually get a penta. Players don't get paid to play professionally. The playerbase is insignificant compared to League. PVP is just a mere mini-game, a side thing. OOO hardly focuses on PVE. Whatever balance tweaks they do, however ridiculous they may be, they do it more so for PVE. PVE is the point of the game. I don't know about you, but it seems that OOO didn't intend for PVP to seem so competitive, when it's more so a casual funsie type of mini-game. Furthermore, the Colosseum subforum only comprises a small portion of the playerbase, which is even smaller than you think when you consider out of all Spiral Knights players, very few people actually use the forums.
Your point that League is a game too, while valid to an extent, falls short.
@Xyka
You are completely right that League is way bigger than SK on all levels. However, being a player of both games, I can honestly say that Lockdown is a better game. Don't get me wrong, League is WAY more balanced than Lockdown, has less lag, better graphics, bigger maps, and more. However, Lockdown's gameplay is so much better than League that it makes me sad how few people play it. Here are some reasons why I think so:
1) You can move your character much more easily/fluidly/freely in Lockdown than League
2) Lockdown requires players to earn money in other parts of the game to improve their PvP gear rather than just playing PvP over and over again... (AKA SK is more varied)
3) Lockdown is incredibly fast-paced, and players play on instinct rather than through constantly making decisions on what moves to make
The main things that are holding Lockdown back imo is:
1) It takes a relatively long time to get the gear necessary to be successful in Lockdown
2) CE revving
3) Small playerbase due to lack of advertising, poor reviews on the game by critics (reviews that are incredibly outdated), the cutsie graphics that turn a lot of serious players off, and lack of advertisement that Lockdown even exists in SK's game (SK's description in Steam shows no mention of PvP)
4) Cheap servers (due to lack of small playerbase)
5) OOO is lazy AF and doesn't take update deadlines seriously
6) Lack of radiant crystals prevent new players from leveling up gear to compete with top players
I'm sure that I'm missing things on both lists, but I think you can understand the gist of how I feel about the topic.
If we were to compare League of Legends: Dominion to Lockdown, I would say Lockdown leans more on the quick paced side. We could argue for days on end which one is better to play, but at that point, everyone's merely grasping for straws.
The biggest problem here, however, is that the development team is focusing on what they feel really matters for the game; upcoming Arcade Redux, Rank Mission Rework, etc.

Yeah... too bad OOO is too godd*** f***ing lazy to update their game within a reasonable timeframe.
Ways to improve lockdown:
1: Wait for OOO to give lockdown some much needed attention, balance, and ranking-wise.
2: Wait
3: Wait
4: Wait
5: You're 70 by now, might be time to look towards bingo as a way to pass your time.
