Recently I've been trying to get single weapon switching to work, however my controls for it kind of suck so I was wondering if any of you guys have any good controls for this ?

Related to switching:
Attack - LMB (left mouse button)
Shield - LShift
Cycle Next - Scroll Down
Cycle Prev - Scroll Up

Unrelated:
Dash - Space
Shield Bash - X
Move Forward - RMB (right mouse button)
Primary movement - WASD

I used to get lots of questions about this in-game but I really try to stress to people that you don't actually need any specific control scheme (heck, when I heard about switch techniques, I saw people recommend weapon-specific hotkeys, but if you have next/prev, you're set), so just find controls that you're comfortable with. I've met a lot of people who have shield/switch/attack all on their mouse hand, and IMO that's way too busy of a control scheme, but if their hands are ok with it, then that's fine with me.

After that, it's more a question of what order and timing you do the inputs.

@Cyrd I've tried that control

@Cyrd
I've tried that control scheme and it seems rather hard, however I will give it another shot and see how it goes.

@Tenkii
I'll definitely try out your controls. However, it does seem slower to switch with prev/next weapon cycle rather than with hotkey'd weapons. That's from my few hours of testing in the training hall. Are you sure it works are the same pace either way ?

@megawatt-king
I'm using mouse + keyboard setup

Yes! Recommendations are good but

Practice would also help. Some improve faster than others.

Well, it's not very practical on a keyboard what you're asking. The best you can do is either getting a mouse with a million buttons and binding the keys there or setting the keys around the movement ones (I suggest moving WASD to ESDF for that).

I recommend the esdf movement

I recommend the esdf movement keys. They feel natural, and leave w and r to good use of weapon switching.

Apparently I'm the only one

Apparently I'm the only one who has his wasd binded on 'move fwd, move backwards, move left, move right'. Works like a charm.

Lmouse - attack
Rmouse - defend
Mouse wheel - weapon switch
Mouse wheel click - dash
