From 2 star level 1 to 3 star level 5, how long should it take to heat a weapon up?

I'm thinking about buying a 4 star weapon on the market instead of making one myself, so I'm trying to figure out how much my time is worth. So far, I've figured I should be willing to pay 71k crowns for the base item, orbs, crystals, materials, and recipes but I still need to include time before multiplying by the fee and adding reasonable profit before making a bid.

Buying a 4 star weapon on the energy market is 1,600 energy which is about 112,000 crowns, so an appropriate discount seems like a great idea!

Also, can anyone tell me how to put my knight in my avatar? I'm playing on Steam by the way.

Thanks very much in advance! :-)

A little guesstimate.

Like 30 minutes.

Also, 1600 Energy is insane, especially when you could just make it yourself for 650 Energy. Don't ever buy weapons/armours/shields from the Supply Depot, it's never worth it, even when they're on sale.

You can change your avatar in the Forum Preferences up at the top.

Dibs, he doesn't want the preset avatars, he wants his OWN persona as an avatar. It's currently not available as a feature, though it might be in the future. Around the same time when OOO gets a new web designer.

It takes around a half hour assuming you don't fail a single forge, and you have enough crystals. If you need crystals, it can take a few more hours. However, Shinings are pretty darn common, so it's rather hard to believe you'll not find any in your many runs throughout the Clockworks. Insert some more cheesy pun text about Clockworks and time.

Like the village of Dibs said, never ever ever ever ever buy weapons from the Supply Depot. Orbs are OK though.

Thanks for the advice. SP

Thanks for the advice. SP was right, but this is good. I activated my avatar after he showed where. :-)

Anyway, are you sure 30 minutes is right? It usually takes about 5 minutes to get through a floor, and I need to spend between 2 and 5 floors to heat up a weapon level. At 3.5 floors per level, that's 17.5 minutes.

Multiplied by 10 heat levels, that's about 175 minutes or nearly 3 hours of gameplay time. :-(

Two to five floors? Wat? It takes Dibs and me (and yes the me is grammatically correct - take out the 'Dibs and' part, and it sounds right) a floor to level up a 3* item. Are you heating multiple gear at the same time? There's a visual bug for the gear which shows incorrect heat levels, so check the Forge every floor, not just the ones the UI tells you to.

I'm playing tier 2 arcade

I'm playing tier 2 arcade floors on elite. On average, it takes 2-5 floors to level.

No, I'm just warming up one weapon at a time.

I guess the real math is

I guess the real math is 74.5k crowns btw for inputs. I forgot about simple orbs.

If I take the average between that and the energy price, it's 93.2k.

Tack on a 10% fee for trading, and it's 103k.

I guess the only real remaining question is whether or not is how long to wait for the weapon I want to pop up on the auction house. Is the 9k crown difference worth it?

On the other hand, if I spend the time to heat up the weapon, I'll get some crowns on the way, and some crystals. Maybe an orb or so will pop up too...

...but I really don't want to take the time. I want to jump right in! Gyah! The spoils of playing will be available anyway for the next pieces of equipment.

note that

you don't need to lvl up your 2* just heat it because simple "I think" fire crystals are useless
