I don't think they can because they are beta players. I'm not sure if a beta player can log into Spiral Knights (Non-beta version).

A legacy username isn't a beta player. I had a legacy username for a while-- it was before the forums allowed knights to log in using a steam account. We had to make regular accounts to access the forums... No knight = "legacy username". Of course, I logged on to my "legacy account" to try and figure out the double username forum bug that Hollows found, so now I don't have a legacy username. Just two avatars. And no, I don't use sock puppets etc. The other account is abandoned with a single alt on it, I just wanted to know how Hollows did it. I always post from steam.

@Skyguarder
There wasn't a 'Spiral Knights Beta' game, per say; it was just a preview period of playing Spiral Knights, before the official release. A beta event poster with the legacy tag could be playing right now - they simply haven't ever posted (or at least with that account) since the display-name change.

That was back when you were Devilite Fehzor. Now there is only Jelly Fehzor. Why did you change your forum avatar anyways?

Legacy username means that they were using their account name to sign into the forums, not their character name. It was changed very early on in the game (most likely for privacy reasons)
For people to comment after that they needed to link a Knight to the forums.

@Poomph

No one uses the jelly knight, and I don't really care whether I'm what avatar so much as it is a cute-ish one because cute things are the best. Rather, I just want the forums as readable as possible, and when I'm the only jelly knight I can find my posts quickly.

And no, if you change your avatar it changes it on all posts. Plus I posted that on "09/11/2011", which was- wait oh jesus I've been here for 3 years what am I doing with my life!?!??
