Hey guys, the title pretty much says is all I'm an old player returning to the game after an immense hiatus. I used to be a knight on duty back before the days when Snarbo and the turret twins weren't even things, before the game was even on Steam. Anyways I stopped playing sometime after Roarmulus Twins was added so I'm guessing later 2011 or early 2012 and as such the name of the game has changed, and I have I few questions, whom I'm hoping you ladies and gentleknights can answer.

First off is materials. I know that Crimsonite, Darkmatter and Luminite are used for the sprite associated with them. Do Moonstone and Valestone no longer serve a purpose or has OOO announced plans from them. I have like 4k of every material but what my sprite consumes, is it worth picking up anything else?

Secondly, I'm assuming that gate construction is no longer a thing, can someone confirm this for me?

Next is the new crafting system. Normally I play on Elite solo solely for Cr income, but does anyone have any data to to confirm whither or not difficulty and party size affects drop rates for things such as sparks or orbs of alchemy? Is it more productive to just select a boss mission on normal and run it until I get what I'm looking for?

Next on my agenda is simply from confusion of playing with people. Been hearing/seeing things about a Clockworks redux. Rumor? Truth? Lie formed in the bosom of falsehood? Please explain this if you can. I'm assuming its just changes to the game similar to what has been done throughout Spiral's entirety.

Being gone for so long, as you can Imagine my guild is dead, literally a corpse, Last login 2012-2013ish. I know that there is a guild recruitment thread, however I just don't have the time to sift through tons of recruitment topics, trying to figure out which ones are just pretty looking guilds and which ones are actually active and engaging their members. Can someone point me in the direction of a guild that centers around Clockworks diving. Shadow Lair runs, Boss runs, just gameplay centered in general, I'd like to steer away from PvP oriented Guilds, simply because when I quit PvP wasn't included in the game.

Next PvP. What is this magical thing? What game modes of fun can be had? Are their team based activities? Is their glory and fame to be had? Will I be decimated by people running 5* equipment or are their modes for equipment? An example would be 3*, 4* and so on based game modes. Can I be the arena King? Is the arena the league of Draven?

Lastly be mah friend. My friends list looks like my guild list except for the people I returned to game with.

Welcome back.

1.] Moonstone and Valestone are currently unused. Speculation by people points to future battle sprites, but as of now they serve no function.

2.] Gate Construction is no longer controlled by knights, you are correct.

3.] I don't believe party size affects drop rates. The only thing that will is the difficulty level.

4.] The Arcade Redux is a project that is in the works. It is going to be released over the course of multiple patches rather than all at once. Supposedly offering a "sandbox type experience," among other things, it's one of the things people are hoping will give life to the Clockworks rather than just having the missions.

5.] I've no idea on a guild off the top of my head, but I'm sure someone will come in at some point with an offer.

6.] Lockdown or Blast Network are the PvP options. Lockdown is a game of "King of the Hill" with three different classes to choose from. It can be separated by Tier 1, Tier 2 and Tier 3. If you're not completely decked out with your best stuff, you may run into some trouble. Blast Network is a bomberman-esque game with its own custom gear for you to blow things (and people) up with.

7.] We shall revive your friend list as well, yes? Yes.

Welcome back! I'd like to

Welcome back!

I'd like to suggest the wiki, http://wiki.spiralknights.com/Main_Page. You might want to act like you have never played before, there have been some major changes, like the removal of mist.

OK, your questions... Yes, there are no current uses for Moonstone and Valentone, although OOO said that there will be in some future update.

Also correct on gate construction, you can no longer sell minerals to gates to change what they will be, once sprites came out everyone was putting only Moonstone and Valenstone so there was a but that there were only fiend/poison/ice levels, if I recall correctly, so they removed that feature.

I'm still not sure on how normal/advanced/elite effects orbs and fire crystals, I'll let someone like Bopp or Zeddy answer that. :D I've heard rumors that party size might effect those drops too. The arcade might give more chances of orbs and fire crystals than missions too, not sure though.

A clockworks redux is said to be being worked on, whether you believe it depends on whether you believe OOO. Some of the recent updates have soured popular trust in what they will happen, like the grinchlin event.

As for guilds, I think a lot fo the biggest/most popular ones are more PVP, at least the ones I hear about. You might have to search around for one. I'm part of a small one called Deadly Nightshade that does mostly arcade and boss runs.

The PVP games are widely considered to be either laggy or broken in regards to tactics and gear. Blast Network, the newer one, is basically bomberman, here's a link to some tactics I googled: http://forums.spiralknights.com/en/node/40236
Blast Network is very hard to find a match since not many people play it.

Lockdown is a heated topic, since it's mostly ruled by people who have the time or money to get really good UVs, as far as I can tell. (I don't play it.) It requires certain gear that isn't always what you need to play the arcade, so you often have to get gear especially for it, unlike Blast Network. You can play in one of three tiers, like the arcade. Tier one is limited to 1* or lower gear, tier two to 3* or lower, and tier 3 is 5* or lower. The method of selecting gear for a certain tier is really poor. You have to save specific loadouts to use for matches, and make sure that you have only the specific ones marked for PVP--having one loadout with a higher star item will put you into a higher tier of Lockdown.

And send me a friend request in-game if you like, my IGN is Hareth. :) (Halandin is my former mist energy alt for crafting, now useless lol.)
