The possible places for
The possible places for radiants are:
OCH
Vana
Shadow Lairs
The first two are probably more economic for you if you are F2P.
The fastest way to get radiants? You're asking for the fastest way. Join D27 of Vana and beat the boss.
Or join the second last depth of OCH and do the same. Either way, you save time for just the radiants (and elite gives the most).
If you want an easier challenge, normal would be okay, but the chance of getting radiants is lower.
If you plan on doing more runs, that is probably more efficient than just tagging a ride for the boss/treasure stage.
Comparison between OCH and Vana:
I don't have specific stats for you to compare, but I'd say with almost the same number of depths, you get twice as much crowns. Usually I find 6 radiants per elite run, sometime up to 12. Once I get 30 radiants, but that was pure luck, so I don't think that's a reliable estimate.
For vana, I usually get 3 radiants, also sometimes up to 12.
That's all the info I can give you myself. Hope it helped somewhat.

Thank you for the help. I do not spend money on "free" games so it seems that I will be doing OCH multiple times. I'm also curious about Danger Missions; does the last depth give any Radiants? I did Ghosts in the Machine a few days ago and only got Shining Fire Crystals.

No they don't, you can only get them at depth 27+ and the last level in danger missions is 26.

Best way? There is none. ATM the most "efficient" way is to sit in front of your PC/Mac/Linux/toilet for 2 hours and do a SL. Other than that you can rip your hair out by getting between 0 and 15 radiants per FSC

Danger missions last floor CAN give rads, but pretty rarely. Trust me, it's happened.

Yes! Someone finally has it right. People who say stop making stupid threads about radiants surely don't know what they are talking about. If we stop, then they won't fix it. How else are we supposed to be heard? I say we all pitch it to flood general discussion with threads about radiants until they listen.

I don't actually play 24/7, so yeah, that would be way better in every way for the casual player (me). The 24/7 FSC farmer wouldn't like it obviously though.

SK was still better with them than now IMO...
Have you compared the price of wolver and brandish? it was 900 cr per brandish and 1200 cr per wolver... influxing up to 1700 cr max... o.O now it's like 5k-7k cr...

I don't get it. Most of you guys should have lots of 5 star gear by now. This should only really effect the new guys. Saying that they didn't experience the 'luxury' before the forge so they wouldn't know the difference.
OOO needed a way to get more players playing. It's clear they wanted to focus on enticing newer players hence all these changes. So lets all just step back (older players) and just accept how things are. As a fan and long time player (over 2 years playing Spiral Knights) I don't mind how things have turned out. Yes arcade was ruined yes the game has become too focused on costumes and accessories, but it gives me a goal to work towards. Shadow Dragon Wings are what, 30,000ce? Well I'll just grind FCS till I get that 30,000ce and buy it. Therefore already OOO has got me playing more.
Sorry if you paid 100s of dollars into the game and you feel more attached to Spiral Knights than anyone else, which makes you feel as if you have more rights to complain, but bottom line is this game belongs to OOO who are under SEGA. They'll do what ever they think is best for business even if that means making 'some' of the sk community unhappy.
Buy 20$ of energy.
Mash the Radiant button in the supply depot.
This is a serious answer.
