By the gods, these threads are not even arsenal related anymore. Put it in Gremlin Chatter or at least General Discussion! ;_;

I've got one.

Can you effectively utilize mid-stepping on anything faster than a two-swing sword?

Sorry for slow responses.

@Thinslayer Are you kidding me? I ALWAYS use mid-stepping. Especially for flourishes, and heavy swords. For heavy swords when you don't have asi, mid-stepping is actually faster than doing the combo without it for me.
@Dibsville I'm a Kat. I hate everyone. Duh.
@Fezhor I draw it from my 3 years of expierence, the wiki, and some friend's opinions.

Erm, wut? Just to be clear, mid-stepping involved briefly charging your swing so you can finish the combo a moment later. I think it works because there's a period of time after your first swing when the game says that any further attacks will complete the combo. After that time, the game considers it just another first-swing. Before that time, you can finish the combo. If charge the weapon during that brief time and release it before that time is up, you can still finish the combo.

It's used when you want to control exactly where you land your combo finisher.

It's nearly impossible to do with faster swords.

I am NOT referring to shield-canceling. That's an entirely different technique.

On the subject of midsteps...

Midsteps can NOT make you complete combos faster than just instantly finishing the combo. If you disagree, please present some proper proof.

Thinslayer, it's very possible to do with fast swords. You can even do it with Cutters. In my opinion, you haven't mastered any sword until you know how to apply midsteps to it. As for mid speed 3-hit swords, it's mostly useful for repositioning to hit multiple mobs as well as dodging. Comboing with and without midstep can make the difference between tanking a Gremlin's hit before you knock it down or just knocking it down without taking damage as is preferable.

Yes, I know what mid stepping is.

If you saw me play, you would know I use it all the time. And it is ridiculously easy to do with any sword really.
