When releasing a non-fully charged bomb the knight slams the bomb down dealing 1/10 the damage of the blast to a small area with medium knockback and a low chance of stun. The knight cannot move while bashing and has a fair chance of receiving stun himself.

This probably wouldn't be useful in any situation even if it was optional: when making suggestions about bombs, you have to keep in mind that we bombers have to do all we can to exploit any general speed bonus (CTR and all that) in using bombs to stay alive – especially in PvP, soloing, etc.. So no matter how fast this process that you're imagining is, it would probably be more hindrance than help. Good idea though.

Hey I'm a bomber too and I've run into several situations where it'd help a ton to knock back a few monsters that got too close between blasts. Also there's the ole block breaking dilemma of bombers.

Not a bad idea. I kinda had a thought like this with pistol whipping.
I would just say, rather than slamming the ground. Smack teh enemy in front of you with the bomb! Weuhoooo!
P.S. This is coming from a guy who likes Bow punching enemies in Skyrim.
This is a huge nerf to bombers, if someone gets hit while charging, and gets stunned and dies; it would be really bad.
