I don't think he's talking about for crafting purposes, I think there are some people in the Bazaar who sell items in exchange for vile seals or certain other materials, forget why.
^ maybe so, but nobody who missed the Apocrea event will be making Carbine any time soon.
The point is that people want a lot of Vile Seals? And the question is, why? Well, what could they be doing with them other than crafting? Feeding them to sprites? Vendoring them?
Bopp listed the only direct uses for vile seals.
The OP is likely referring to this.
My guess?
There has got to be some profit somewhere.
The materials had low demand prior to the shop opening, but have a high demand after.
It could be a market trickery - creating artificial demand for otherwise abundant items.
I know the day the shop opened, a couple thousand vile seals also appeared in the auction house for 100 to 200 crowns each.
I'm a bit skeptical that the items were actually sold from the vile seal shop (no player names/posts from people buying like the Gel Drop thread).
people buy vile seals in K's i saw someone trading a wing for 67K vile seal!!
Some people say "I will buy all of your vile seals 10 cr each" so who would like to trade a wing for 67k vile seal so he craft a bomb or armor ?
Sorry for the late replay.
Think of it as the Spiral Knights equivalent of a bottlecap collection. It doesn't accomplish anything, and there's no real use for it, but you feel satisfied nonetheless to know you've obtained what you were passionate about.
Njthug is selling high ticket items in exchange for vile seals, or he was at one point. Why would he do this? Nj's reasoning is simple "LOL why not? It's funny"
Here's another way to think about it, if the bottle cap analogy just isn't enough. If you buy Vile Seals at a cheap enough price per unit, and happen to accumulate enough to buy NJ's Anti-Personnel spikes, you're saving a hefty chunk of change. As far as I'm aware, that accessory is worth much much more.
I don't know. It's used in Fallen armor, a lot of normal swords, some shard bombs, and Graviton bombs. Oh, and Sentenza/Blackhawk. That last one is fairly popular, right?
