His friends try to harass him very subtly, which is ok by the rules.
Posting things like "<69" all over the place is a great way to make a lot of people very angry and very passionate, and then make a fool out of them for all to behold. Things like that are fine, even if you smashed someone's feelings. Don't worry, because other people aren't real.
EDIT:
Also, if you have a specific example that you could show to the GMs, a "real answer" would be much better than whatever I have to say.

If by "trolling" you mean:
-intentionally harassing other players in the most obvious way possible,
-using foul language
-intentionally harassing game masters in the most subtle yet devastating way possible,
then no, trolling is typically not allowed.

If you really really really wanna get people, I'd recommend posting a thread that could go into either arsenal, new recruits or coliseum in general discussions, and then disappear for a week or so, then come back and post the exact same thread in general discussions using an alt. Also remember to go for the hot button topics, like radiant fire crystals or brandishes or the energy system or bringing spiral knights to mobile development (without saying anything intelligent about the issue).
