So I was wondering, what kind of traits would a good lockdown player have in your opinion? I think myself that a good player should have these :

-Having a high survivability rate
-Being efficient with weapons in your loadout
-Being able to handle difficult situations
-Efficient and/or quick within a fight

What do you guys think ?

/me both agrees and disagrees with the OP.

People love the idea of becoming the strongest lockdown player. Those four traits you described pretty much sum up what makes the "best", the "best". That is why I agree.

This is what I think makes a good lockdown player, in order for peeps to understand why I disagree.

1: Does not care about other people insulting him.
2: Talks politely and often.
3: Let's his feelings be known.
4: Plays care-free.
5: Plays not to perform, but to have fun.
6: Completes trait #5 in his own unique way.

See my point?

I rank being able to adapt to different situations pretty highly.
It also depends on wether you're talking GvG or RLD.
Pretty much anything goes in RLD, but GvG shows your worth as a player imo.

(I don't even play to win in RLD, it's overrated.)

Agreed. RLD feels somewhat pointless and boring. Most matches are determined by which team gets which players either way.
GLD, on the other hand, is generally played at a much higher level and also requires your team to communicate and strategise. Too bad it's mostly played on the US servers, though.

@Xyka Right, gotta do that

@Xyka
Right, gotta do that but first must not die of laughter. ggwp

@krabob and feyi
Random lockdown can actually be determined by a single player and not 'players' given that this player is skilled enough(in my opinion). Imagine having this one brokenly OP person who's slaughtering everyone. Then his team would win. That being said if you can become that person it doesn't matter what team you are put against. However I do agree with the strategy thing since it does make sense for gvg to be more competitive than random lockdown in a sense that guilds are trying to win while random lockdown is usually for derpin around.

I also do like the traits you listed out though feyi. Keep em coming

I disagree. It's mega fun

I disagree. It's mega fun trying to be that guy that gives little suggestions or caps/uncaps the appropriate point combination to give your team victory :) But maybe I'm a weirdo that likes playing the game to win :p

Though don't get me wrong, some games are just purely unwinnable. Whatevs! Hardcore mode go!

Nothing weird about playing

Nothing weird about playing it to win blueflood. Different people enjoy different thing. Personally don't like losing matches in random lockdown either but I wouldn't be the guy who'd beat myself up over it. I do however like your style of capping/uncapping which can definitely make teams win or lose and would make you a game changing player really.

Also, krakky. Don't you think random lockdown has a more free roam atmosphere where people can have fun and not stress themselves if they lose ? Point being of it to be fun and not having to throw insults at each other like we do in gvg ?(Welp there is exceptions and happens in random lockdown too. Just much less..)

That's in line with what I meant Helios.
It's not like I'm intentionally not trying to win in RLD, but I couldn't care either.
I find myself going recon or guardian a lot there, just to break the monotony of beating up everyone as striker.

I'll be the first to admit I'm not great, but even I can usually make the difference by myself on US server like you said.
The problem with RLD is that it's too easy. It makes me sloppy.

As for further things I appreciate as far as LD skill goes:

-Map knowledge, and map presence. Knowing where to be at what time, by experience and reading your minimap. Essential stuff.

-Being able to take one for the team by distracting more people than you should, in order for your team to catch up.
(looking at you Blueflood >_>)

-Being able to play hybrid. Hybrid is by its nature more adaptable and I like adaptable.

-You need to have at least a shock- and freezewalker load out, just because those can wreck your team. Stun is optional.
I'm not talking UVs here, those are always optional, but just walker gear.

@#12
Of course you can determine who wins if you're good. That's what I said, no? It can very well be a single person in which case the team that gets that person wins.

@#14
I feel like RLD is a place where you'll never find coordination or high level games (except for very occasionally but they're never super high level) and that just makes it lack a big point in my opinion. It can be good practice for newer players and people who want to play without being serious. Either way, I find RLD to be the place with more insults and whatnot (as opposed to GLD where it's mostly people whining).
