It isn't that they are nearly impossible at times, it is that they drop the least amount of loot. OOO finally made a challenge, but it has no reward. Easy levels like graveyards give lots of loot, while compounds give little. Little challenge=Lots of reward. vs. Lots of challenge=No reward This should be fixed. I don't like playing a hard level without any sense of accomplishment.
The REAL reason Compounds should be hated.

but well thats the thing that annoy me, only one place to farm and get pretty well rewarded... (and yes i mean FSC) if the rest of the game could have many places where you can get pretty well rewarded and not only FSC i wouldnt mind to farm since i have many options where to get rewarded but oh well.
just waiting the new update or big update to play it a bi anyway.
Because every level should be full of undead that drop lots of crowns..
Forget the challenges, the puzzles and the unique monsters that inhabit those levels. We just want more grinding!

I said that there are not enough boxes when it was released. At once i got 5 boxes, but usually not more than 3.
It depends on the compound.
The ones with rabbits and mini slimes are easy. You just pound through them with piercing weapons.
The ones with slimes aren't since they just slide under your feet instead of attacking you. Even with a good shadow weapon, they will hit you now and again.
I'm saying this as someone who plays with swords and guns. Bombs aren't feasible until you get established, but by that point, all levels are easy anyway.
Im fairly sure compounds arent meant to be liked.
Its an obstacle to pass through reluctantly.
All to get 1 step closer through the clockworks.

There's a max of 2 battle areas where you cannot progress without killing everything (with none being the most common).
Also, the crown payout is about on par with normal depths. Clockwork tunnels, arenas, and graveyards are among the top ones.
The treasure box count is among the lowest. (Graveyard is worst for treasure boxes)

It's not. That's why I try stuff out with other weapons, other techniques, and whatnot pretty often.

Arenas. Wanna guess why? Hint: it's because they're challenging more fun to play.
If I'm seeking loot, I'm probably seeking Elite Orbs and in that case, I'm in S4 and everything is a joke unless I choose to use 3* gear, basically. I don't mind that, though.
All minis need to drop loot loot, including the respawns, for compounds to be fun.
Enemies that don't drop loot suck.
No one bothers mugging poor people.
No one bothers stealing crappy cars.
Also, we need the vendors to stop selling materials for tokens.
Materials should only be available in the clockworks.
Edit - And the Hall of Heroes killed recipe hunting for me.
We need more things in the clockworks that we can't get anywhere else.
Respawns can't drop loot, that's a general rule.
However, I do agree that recipes should be found somewhere else.
Um. Isn't that already the reason that they-- as well as owlite keep-- are hated?
