Yup, another hate thread. Radiants? Nope. Auto-target? Wrong. This is a little thing called 'ban evasion'
Apparently if you get banned, the ban applies to the PLAYER, not the account. So over a year ago, my little brother got on my old
Knight Lord-Bacari on an old account and apparently sld my strike needle to someone, took the CE, and logged. But that's another story. So I made anew knight on a different account, Crythaul. I've spent over 75.00 within te last month and over 170.00 total since beginning to play spiral knights. So what do you guys and gals think? Over 5100 hours total spent playing SK. did anyone else know about that little tidbit hidden in the ToS? Do I get a refund? Nope. Do I get any of my amazing UV'd gear back? Nope.
So waddya think? Should I get atleast my old account back, even If it is wiped of everything?
This is what you call a 'hate thread'
Yourself, your account, everything that belongs to you.
It's your responsibility.
i don't understand the point of the thread, is this to argue about a ban from a year ago or ask for advice on getting the account back while simultaneously admitting to having been getting around the ban for over a year
^almost exactly what u said^
The last part atleast
If you had wanted your account back, did you at least use a support ticket and tell the gm's what happened so maybe the problem could be sorted out? If you didn't do that much I'd say it falls on you for not trying to clear it up.
Isn't a ban supposed to be a BAN? What's the pont in trying to avoid it unless you just made this post telling you avoided it because you can.
Those little brothers.
Always so evil.
Did he seriously just admit he's been evading a ban for a year?
I think... he did. But theoretically, since the ban applies to the player and not the account...
Oh wait, the ToS says you are responsible for your account no matter who plays on it.
..so your ban is entirely justified. What are you hating on? Yourself for not reading the ToS?
I always love reading these kinds of Thread because I got banned on some games and I 100% of the time deserved it. You learn more the hard way when you hit a wall then when someone is telling you "turn left now otherwise you will hit that brick wall"
I know a lot of people who are ban avoiding and some of them are legit and others not. But OOO customer department is really lacking unity from what I've seen. It's case by case and if X person gets a hold of Z problem then he won't act the same as Y person in front of Z problem.
I remember a time where anyone could get temp ban by simply baiting an insult like "noob" by disguising yourself as a proto guy (before missions) and then act nooby then someone call you a noob then you report them and watch them not talk to you and evading you because of how silly OOO manage their ban. (yes I used to do that and it isn't against the ToS AFAIK)
So why would you want to avoid bans anyway? If you did nothing on your end then shouldn't you just do nothing? Arent players who do report you for absurdly silly reason just baiting you into reporting them? Couldn't you just act above it?
Is there any problem with banning players? Players are the offenders, not their accounts.
So, here's what you do.
#1: Get your little brother alone.
#2: Tie him up
#3: Make him pay $$ to you.
#4: Proceed to put headphones on him and play justin bieber, MLP, And rebecca black as loud as possible.
#5: Get grounded for a year.
#6: Feel like a boss
So in other words...
Guns don't kill gremlins, knights kill gremlins.
We should ban knights instead of banning gunners.
(Also, I don't see the distinction between players/accounts with the exception of players can have multiple accounts... banning players would involve banning one or more accounts then?)
Players being able to have multiple accounts is the thing. All of those should be banned and if the player is found avoiding the ban, that account should be banned as well.
See bans like prison. If you escape them, they lose their purpose.
I've actually seen multiple people get this 'ban evasion' ban. Pretty odd, I think.
“Implodez used Ban Evasiveness!”
“Implodez's evasiveness won't go any higher!”
“Three Rings used Ban!”
“It's super-effective!”
Perhaps if you kill the brother then OOO will give you your stuff back.
Implodez used Siblicide on Generic Brother!
But it failed! Implodez can't escape from Three Rings's Arena Lockdown!
Three Rings used Forum Ban!
Complaining about someone else getting you banned?
Sorry, isn't it in almost every MMO's Terms of Service that you should not share your account?
Hell, Runescape even had an area that you could only go through by answering questions pertaining to the ToS that basically stated "Don't share your account with someone or you will be [redacted]."
What do I think? I think you need a better password.
Sigh. I don't like that side of the spectrum. You have a faithful player. And you have a strict rulebook.
If you could only write a sincere, apologetic letter to somehow redeem yourself and remain faithful. Or something.
But the problem with this is that there's a small team of administrators and there's this super huge ratio of people they govern. Although with technology, you can do millions of things, you can't substitute a human to read all of these replies and this human to practice what you think is right. You can however set forth a rule to be never broken.
If SK had a smaller community. Say only 100 people playing. Making 100 people happier is easier than making a thousand people happy.
I'd like to remember that SK's ToS states that your account is your responsibility but doesn't say anything about sharing so you can share but if someone screws up, you'll have to take responsibility for it.
This is not so easy to follow. Maybe calm down and retype this. Or maybe you're not serious and just trolling. Sorry I'm not new but I don't know some of you so I can't tell.
