It's difficult. That's a lot of floors to not have an accidental death. Don't rain on his parade. I couple well timed fires/shocks/poisons could wipe you out. A graveyard with mega-arm zombies could wipe you. Rocketpups with invisible rockets...
There are a lot of ways you can unexpectedly wipe. I think it is an accomplishment even with perfect gameplay conditions. Then you throw in possible lag spikes and the like, and it's impressive.
P.S. With the lag i get this achievement would be nearly impossible.

It depends entirely on the gate you run. Some gate like Ruby Phantom or Sapphire Rook, where the final stratums (Construct, Beast, Jelly) are quite easy and there's no bosses, this is a very easy achievement and it's more about luck of not getting stunlocked then completely owned. Or not lagging/disconnecting.
Now, on Onyx Falcon or Silver Queen it's entirely different.
Silver Queen, you get FSC and Vanaduke to the face. Killing Vanaduke with no deaths at all won't be an easy feat, and FSC is usually pretty difficult if your party isn't prepared/you aren't very skilled.
Onyx Falcon, you get god damn Dark City and fiend levels on the final stratum. Anyone who manages to do this on solo deserves respect. (...cough)
Kind of annoys me though, that I didn't get awarded the achievement because I did it before they fixed it in the latest patch. Running Onyx Falcon for nothing!
@jeburk - I actually did this with ~300ms ping at the time and A LOT of rubberbanding and lagspikes. It wasn't all that bad, except for the final stratum - Defending against Devilites and Kats was freaking impossible.
@ kakelgis, glad to see i'm not the only one that has issues with the Devilites (and kats to lesser extent) with a less than great connection.
Have you noticed now that the pit boss turns into a grunt when you kill all his minions, sometimes he'll transform after your combo finishes last minion and he will attack you before you it is possible to recover. It's crap!
the only real difficulty: depth 28, your party decides they don't like running through grave, like 8 phantoms.

Is was in a recent announcement jeburk, pitboss now gets demoted when he loses all his workers, it's a guarantee he will when every non boss devilite is down..
You are making it sound as if it was supposedly to be hard which isn't the case. The run itself should be easy, its just that it takes an tremendous amount of time.
