We're being really selfish here. Only caring for our own dmg needs etc. We're plenty strong, what we need is fresh blood. I'm sick of fighting the same people over and over again.

That's why I'm making a LD manual explaining to new players on how to get better at it because it's just boring right now. However I need your help. There will be several but this first one will be focused on striker hybrids.

First two steps to lockdown basics would obviously be

Step 1: Get 2, 5* penta hearts trinkets.
Step 2: Craft an FF/BTB.

I actually agree with

I actually agree with Son-of-hades lol

On a serious note, you can't make a manual on how to play. People develop their own styles over time which depend on different armour and different bonuses. You can learn certain tricks but overall you need to know much more and expierence much more than that to be good. The problem here really is that most players want to get into LD and be OP after 2 matches. If they don't get that they begin using methods which, get them hate or they just leave straight away. That's why new "good" players are rare. It can also depend on your definition of good. For example for me its a person who can take care of situations efficiently and also ones that possess a good survivability rate. So you should really take these into account

Well being a proper hybrid involves having a BKC or chaos set, so since this is for newcomers, i'd say:

Step 3: Get a Chaos Set

Also, since GF/DA is far easier to use than FF/BTB, I'd put that as Step 2, and Step 1 would be about 2 4* HP trinks which are nearly just as good (I played with 4* for months, even after I had ASI High weapons).

So that would become:

Step 1: 2 4* HP trinks
Step 2: GF/DA
Step 3: Chaos Set
Step 4: FF/BTB
Step 5: Valiance (possibly with an ASI Med, you should have some money by now)
Step 6: 2 5* HP trinks
Step 6: Re-do Step 2, 4 (and eventually 5) but with an ASI Med

Helios I don't agree with you

Helios
I don't agree with you and I am going to tell you why. This guide is for the basics, while everybody plays different if you look at it there's a basic the vast majority of the players use and can certainly be helpful for beginners. I.e. the trinkets and FF/BTB. Most hybrid strikers use those.

As for reto, thanks I'll take that into the guide.

Heh just for the kicks I'm

Heh just for the kicks I'm going to disagree here(yet again), health trinkets aren't required at all but are a help with striker(I used to know this guy who scored like 20k in 5 matches in a row with hammer using no trinks o.o). Also I know quite a few striker hybrids who don't use FF/BTB so that's there. As for general rules I'd suggest :

1) Don't rush into a situation which could be done better slowly
2) Use guns to your advantage(I genuinely can't imagine an all swords striker doing good versus people who know how to use guns within their loadouts)
3) Use dash efficiently(as in make sure when you dash it's for a necessary movement, not just for the kicks)
4) Using armour which provides the necessary bonus for your playstyle(cause defence vs whatever doesn't make much difference in my opinion)

Well here's some general rules which a good striker hybrid should follow, not really steps to what weapons you should get or what trinkets which is sort of redundant since most people have specific weapons they like to use and which they can get to work really well if they practice with them

We need new people in LD regardless of skill level.
It's not about them being good, what matters in the early stage is that they should not be trampled by veterans.

An addition to the training hall where LD mechanics can be practiced against scuttlebots comes to mind.
In house GvG would also be a great way to help/learn from guildies.
A ranking system so teams aren't as random.

We as players can do very little.

step one: Merch
step two: buy asi medium/high GF/DA and FF/BTB
step three: buy normal high wolver line (craft to skolver)
step four: heat it
step five: use a macro to click for you (against ToS), and become Rubyeclipse.

While being a generic striker is overpowered and all, I think people should experiment more and find their own styles. There are many things you can learn outside of LD games, additionally. Single weapon switch swinging, mid-stepping, etc. are good techniques that are at least as important in PvE.

Hmm.

As it is apparently mildly frustrating for the lesser part of you the people posting here to understand the point of all this, I'm prepared to elaborate some more.

This guide serves as the basic must have for anyone entering LD, it is by no means meant to create OP players.

I'd appreciate it greatly if you would write your tip on the fact that it needs to serve as a basic piece of information an individual should have from which they can derive their own style as they progress further through the game and get the so called 'feel' of the mechanics.

Well I could argue more that

Well I could argue more that there are no essentials but I'm going to be supportive of this thread for now cause I was looking for something like it when I was a newer player.

So essentially for me heart trinkets are a must(I always wear pentas). No matter what the loadout is I always have a fast weapon to retaliate quickly so that could be one rule(this fast weapon doesn't have to be an ff/btb). If you are going for heavy damage then one of the heavy damage weapons are a must(obviously). If you want speed opt for brandish, if you want knock back and more damage but the sword will be slower go for sealed sword line.

Another essential tip for beginners would be that using dash causes invinciframes so you could get out of some really nasty situations like that. Heck just being aware of invinciframes in general is quite a good thing to know. If you do know them theres then great methods on how to use them to your advantage are available to you.

To sum it up.
-heart trinkets are essential(for striker)
-quick weapon for quick retaliation is quite handy
-big damage swords sort of necessary to get high damage and fast kills
-INVINCIFRAMES(learn how to use those to your advantage)

1 tip to rule them all.

Spectate good LD players. Copy some of what they do, then if possible, record yourself to see how you compare.

I made a whole thread of videos for new players and veterans in efforts to promote different play-styles/strategies when it comes to winning your LD match. Feel free to pull some info from those when working on your guide! These days I don't feel there's any one cookie cutter loadout that spells instant success as there was a few years ago, but I have been proven wrong before :)
