The office DOES have one of those, and it is the most likely explanation. Especially since we don't have a Stargate.
I thought they just had a superior understanding of Quantum Mechanics and were able to send electronic impulses both forwards and backwards through time.
The event (as so I've been told) also ends on March 9th, the 69th day of the leap year. Not as prominent as say: March 10th, but enough for me. <69
