The fight in the new mission isn't fun, just cheap

I thought you'd learned from Grinchlin Assault and the first time Tortodrones were released that situations in which you literally cannot avoid taking damage aren't fun.

With two Tortodrones in the same room, alongside Devilites, you're pretty much forced to take damage.

That's not fun, or arguably even challenging.

There should always be a way to dodge, or at the very least, a way to avoid getting into the situations that you can't stay safe in.

Also, fix the freeze/lag when you do the Tortodrone fight.

That's OOO's servers. I bet there's a huge spike of players flooding in for the Tortodrone. It should die after a day or two.

It's less about their servers and more about a bajillion effects all loading at once.

Try going into your advanced options and turning everything off and putting AA to 1x. Seemed to help me when I did that a few months ago, and it still looks the same as I'm on High graphics.

No, it happened to me in FSC, and Haven as well. Are we talking about where you have a stable connection, like 4 bars, and everything's fine, and then the screen pauses for a few seconds, resumes for a dozen or so seconds, and repeats?

The 4th wall shall be shattered!!!

How bout we reduce the amount to one but give it a buff in return?

Yes! I used to have that skipping all the time! I'm fairly certain turning off those extras helped me out, but if that doesn't help you, I'm not sure what would.

I'd definitely like to see a single Tortodrone with higher health with no healer.

Yes! A single Tortodrone would reduce the AoE spam they do to troll us. They cover the whole area in explosives; reminds me of this.

Except in Castle Crashers' case, the bosses can actually be dodged if you see the tells.

Meanwhile with the two Tortodrones, you can't melee because you're standing still, which leads to getting instagibbed, and the only safe way to fight is using a gun... which doesn't save you from the shock/stun spikes.

A single Tortodrone would leave at least SOME room for melee.

Restart your client.

The Tortodrone hasn't even been out for 48 hours and people are already complaining about balance.
Although I do agree that the fight is difficult, and the Tortodrones hit hard, I reckon a more constructive thing to do would be to zip your lip, play the game, and discover the strats.

Defensive strategies.

The generic strategy of "kill it before it kills you" is pretty worthless here.
As I said with the grinchlin assault - there ARE strategies. My teams got it down to a no-spark run (not yet no-death) since the hp/def buff on elite.

I wrote several lines of text, but instead I'm just gonna put this link here.

[Thanks, Atrumvindex.]

See if your strategies match up to the "if the player fails, can they tell what they did wrong" idea. And if they don't... well, post them.

I don't WANT to be right, right now.

EDIT: I managed to no-spark it, but it involved multiple things, including and not limited to a) patience, b) only guns and bombs, c) praying they didn't spam the stun/shock crystal AoE, and d) always moving to the side.

It took several minutes. I still don't like it.

gods ain't gonna help you, son.

dray, I can't be seeing how you a,b, and d are bad things. I tried only once, and I have to say that I should have moved more.

They're not bad things, but it's pretty sad that it's impossible to do anything but run if you have two Tortodrones on you at the same time.

I can fight one alone however I want. Two? No.

It might be just me, but I swear they don't have the same aggro rules as other enemies, either.

The existence of a healer means you have a lot less freedom to take your time, because if you're not dealing more damage than the Tortos are being healed, or distracting the healer somehow, you won't make any progress whatsoever..

Generally speaking, it seems like you need an entire party that's totally coordinated with each other while using the best gear in the game, and if that was the intended result of this mission, it should at least be labeled as a Danger Mission (or something worse).

At least now I have a good use for my Obsidian Edge, I guess.

Can you shield camp the healer?

Probably, but that means you're putting yourself in a corner.

Since you can't just bump Tortodrones, that means you're setting yourself up for instadeath.

What if you stun the Tortos with a vial or something? Are they like Trojans, where they stay still and their head falls a bit?

I can run the fight deathless with 2 bars, and I can run the fight with only one death with 1 bar..

What.

Great!

Tell me what you use and do.

Like I said, I want to be wrong, because right now it feels difficult for the wrong reasons.

I use Mercurial Demo set, Grey Owlite Shield (I've found it holds up better than CoA, but that might just be me), Penta x2, MSI Med Perk, Barbarous Thorn Blade, Valiance, Voltedge, Blitz Needle, and Maskeraith.

I'm starting to figure that not only is this thread totally and utterly thoughtless, but that I'm not actually contributing anything, because I refused to believe that using a ranged weapon to deal most of my damage was a realistic strategy. Whenever I think of a solution I catch myself thinking "but i don't like that!" as if it was a realistic excuse.

Instead, I'm just gonna cut the scrap and gripe about things that actually make sense.

Sorry.
