Anyone else confused about the new mini map?

I feel like I'm looking at a Rorshach Ink Blot test; the walking area is the same color as the outside-not-walking area! =w=

Meanwhile, can anyone explain to me their theory behind FSC's new door system?
(I miss taking trojans out for walks, but tell me your idea why)

So that ppl can't cheat more or less and wait while trojans kill slags. They encourage ppl to fight all the enemies. Also if you don't like the minimap open loadouts or anything that blocks the whole right part of the screen (double as a way to not see party invites). And anyway you can clear the chat if party invites give you trouble too.

That seems like a pretty

That seems like a pretty aversive thing to do on both counts.

Now it's going to be that much harder to do proto weapon FSC.

I think the map was fine as it was before.

3 distinguishable colors: dark- no map, light- hard wall, grey- walking area.

FAST FORWARD TODAY WITH NO BRAKES

2 distinguishable colors: dark- No map and places you can walk, light- hard wall.
Everything is in black and white and it's hard to look at where I'm going on the tiny map.

Heck even Guild halls still use the old coloring system.

some rooms let you grab the sprite and walk out, maybe they want to discourage speed runs.

Map

I don't find the new map confusing, but I don't understand what makes it better than the old one... When I read the update I thought they'd be showing a difference between paths you've taken and paths you haven't yet and I got really excited. But, sadly, me and my terrible sense of direction are still bumbling around the clockworks.
