Hello. Thank you for reading.

I am currently using 2* stuff and I want to work towards JK runs.

Current:
- Demo Helm, Suit
- Calibur, Blast Bomb

My questions would be:
1. Can a 3* Bomber help with JK without Poison bombs [other Haze/Blast upgrades instead] ?
2. Can a 3* Bomber help with JK with Poison Bombs ?
3. Should I go with Wolver/Vog armour instead of Bomber for JK ?

To confirm, i intend to always use Sword/Bombs.

Focusing on your sword is

Focusing on your sword is probably your better bet. Jellys are pretty slow and easily avoidable, blast bombs just fling them around dangerously and something like a freeze bomb is uneeded. Fire bombs are probably your best option from 3* bombs, they have a fair radius and just add some ticks of damage without needing more then one application per wave spawn which frees your hands up to whack things. Poison is an important part of the king fight but not really anywhere else in the palace and your group should easily have the 5 or 6 vials you need by the time youre down there. When you get up to 4* though I wholeheartedly recommend a gravity bomb for the palace, it sucks the majority of every spawn into little pack perfect for sword cleaving and even clears mini jellys away from the king which really simplifies that fight. Not so great outside the palace though, mediocre damage, kinda slow charge speed.

For 3* swords a cautery is good. It's not as good for jellys as a nightblade but its normal damage makes a safer all purpose calibur-like in case you hit a graveyard or something on the way down and once you get to 4* youll probably want to jump tracks to a sealed sword line instead of sticking to an acheron line anyway.

For armor its not really important. Keep whatever 5*, 4 weapon slots loadout youll eventually want in mind, which could be bomber or vog or even a more weapon neutral set like grey feather or salamander.

@Actinium

thanks for the reply. I was wondering if I was ever going to get any.

I'm a non-cash user :D. Only 2 Weapon Slots.

Cautery sounds like a good short-term solution, but kinda of limited if I want to take down JK faster at higher *, or for other monsters for that matter.
Thanks for the armour tip.

I was thinking of just upgrading my Calibur & Blast up their line. One to Ascendant, other to Nitro. Opinions on that?

also, What do you think of a Striker in long term planning to a 4* Vile Striker for JK ?

another question just popped

another question just popped in my head,

Does the Phantom follow-up attack for one attack in a Striker have the chance to apply Poison?

Chroma Set

If you want a 3* set dedicated to jelly runs, get a cautery sword and the whole chroma set.

It is kind of a dead end, though, in that you won't really want the 5* version of chroma set, unless you make a habit of doing T3 slime layers.

Vog Cub and any 5* (non-flourish) sword will do just fine, of course, if you take a longer view.

Nightblade or Cautery sword +

Nightblade or Cautery sword + Chroma suit and Chroma cap. For bombs it's whatever, although Freeze is great for the utility in clearing some of the annoying rooms, and blast bomb is good for keeping slimes away from your team on the JK (minor strategy, no reason to get them if you don't already plan on doing so for other things).

You'll want a 4 weapon slot

You'll want a 4 weapon slot ideal loadout eventually, especially if your planning to go through t3 the added versatility is just kinda a must and really the 250ce for 1month weapon slot fee isn't very important next to 800ce 5*crafts. Generally bombers will want a bomb suit with a blast bomb variant as their main weapon for consistent damage and spacing and then 2 status bombs to help pile on damage between blasts or as utility to help teamates, with a non bomb in the 4th slot to help with things that all bombs are bad at, like a flourish or magnus for devilites who are notoriously annoying to bombers constantly pelting you with staplers and making you lose your charge or for backstepping out of your blast radius. Swordys want a vog cub set and 3 swords to cover the 3 damage types so they're always doing maximum damage in the few safe openings they get and then a non sword in the 4th slot for shooting at gunpuppys across gorges or a shivermist to help split up otherwise unassaultable crowds of monsters in arenas. Gunslingers go for a similar set up to swordys, 3 damage types and a utility non gun in the last slot, maybe a troika or a blast bomb to use knockback to keep good spacing from aggressive monsters or getting cornered, maybe a gran faust to cover the shadow alchemers less then steller performance which lets you replace it with a more specialized gun like a sentenza just for gremlins or a second elemental alchemer with a different status effect and/or specialized uvs on both, one with construct damage the other undead damage. Players that go for all 3 weapon types or a 2/2mix should either default to vog since swords are the consistent damage dealers or get a greyfeather for all purpose t3 defenses or a salamander if they just like doing mostly t2 jelly runs forever.

If you plan to mostly run jellys off 2 weapon slots, at least until you can afford all that crap, you cant ask for a better all purpose normal damage weapon then the calibur. It's not gonna smash jellies in the short term as well as a cautery but it does upgrade to the 5* and its a little stronger against everything other then jellys. The nitronome is the go-to blast bomb for the above general bomber loadout so if you want to aim at that its a wise investment but it doesn't do anything a calibur doesn't, theyre both good normal damage weapons with good knockback, you'll never really need one over the other but at least the calibur doesn't always need to be charged and your less likely to knock around a pack of jellys to the 4 corners and get the guy with the gran faust who was lining up some big cleaves angry. A freeze bomb will combo better with the calibur, it makes you everyones best friend outside the palace in arena and danger rooms where it'll split up dangerous large packs of monsters, kinda a 2 weapon loadout equivalent to the standard swordy.

The vile striker is the sword version of the grav bomb for jelly runs. It excels in the palace where all the slow attackers eat up full slice and dice combos and no one needs to focus on saving up poison vials because you just swarm the chubber and slap him until he turns pink. outside the palace though the cutter line's lack of knockback and excessively long combo don't really make it shine and poison is a rarely needed status effect. I have no idea if the phantom cuts also apply poison.
