I just find it very weird. and a bit sexist
Why do our avatars have feminine shaped bodies?
So you find it sexist, even though there are many many games out there that only let you play as a male character.
Logic.
It's pretty clear from their glowing eyes that Knights aren't human, so for their species they could have masculine bodies.
Just put on a some plate mail if you don't like it.
Half of these armors don't even look remotely feminine. The Knights just have slim bodies, that's all.
We're obviously Black Mages. Just look at at the dark aura around our skin, seem familiar?
Sexist? I do believe the term you're looking for is androgynous.
There's the obviously feminine stuff, like Culets, Raiments, and Draped armors. Then there's more neutral stuff, like Coats, Brigandines, Flak Jackets, Cuirasses, Plates, etc.
But, what do I know? We have a privilege to be checking.
Someone once said we look like nendoroids, which I think is pretty accurate.
While some of the armors definitely have somewhat of a female vibe to them, it's probably how slim they seem that's probably giving you that impression. They've got stump feet and glowing eyes! Knights aren't meant to be humans.
You know it's weird, but even though I originally picked the Culet, I never viewed it as "feminine" until seeing people call it that on the forums. I mainly chose it because I liked the Sallet for my helmet, and the name rhymed. Apparently I missed noticing the...um...chesticles.
@OP
Not sure how you could think the SK body is female...maybe too much cartoon por-.....portraits.
I assume that are characters aren't human so comparing them to human characteristic are obsolete
Since around 95% of the players in Spiral Knights are presumed to be female, I don't see any problem with this.
All spiral knights are this race of shadow people. They will take the form of anything they find, which is why feminine armor makes them look like a female, and masculine armor maces them look like a male. If you put one into a beaker or something then it would take the shape of the beaker or whatever it was in.
They also run with their arms held low at their sides. In my schoolyard days, that style was called "running like a girl".
Then I saw some old Godzilla movies. Everyone runs that way in those. Go figure.
(And of course, these days most girls can outrun me. It's no fun getting old. :-(
It's no fun getting old. :-(
True, but it's better than the alternative.
"one does not simply escape from rule 34"
SK just did so you know nothing.
"All spiral knights are this race of shadow people. They will take the form of anything they find, which is why feminine armor makes them look like a female, and masculine armor maces them look like a male."

Just CTRL+F for the Rule 34 Trope.
Henry lol i was talking about the Spiral Knights not the gremlins lol XD. Sorry if i was unclear.
Dude, can you imagine what SK would be like if the knights were muscular?
What makes you say this? I can't find a resemblance. It's humanoid, is what I see.
