Is there any way to gauge how many hit points a knight has per pip of health? I know that Lockdown gives an account of the damage inflicted upon other knights but without the appropriate crew, I have no way of knowing how to come about those numbers. And if there is a way, has it been done already?

The number was 46 per, I think. Bopp should be here any second now.

gods ain't gonna help you, son.

40-41. hex made the speculation if I recollect correctly, so I'm asking for help here.

40 seems to definitely work with all the rounding that the game has.
In fact, I've been working on figuring out how armor works exactly here and have been using 40 points per pip.

I don't know the exact source, but I would venture to guess that someone like Hexzyle made the speculation and Zeddy probably tested it in LD (with on person reading the % left, and the other reading the damage delt).

It is exactly 40 and not a single point more or less. If you deal 1080 damage to a penta-heart striker in Lockdown, this will kill them. If you deal 1079 damage, it will not kill them.

A penta-heart striker has exactly 27 pips (5 base health+5 helmet+5 armour+6 pendant+6 pendant), and if you divide 1080 by that you get 40. The tooltip for strikers will claim you have a -2 pip penalty for being a striker, but this is a lie.

So Zeddy was all liek:

"Bopp? Screw Bopp! I'm the better scientist, let's steal his thunder. Owait, Cradle has no thunder, but it has rain, it can't be! Time to run 2 million calculations on this, with everybody and their grandmother bowing down to me to help me with experiments because I'm the freaking god of science on SK."

Perhaps it is actually worth filing a bug report for the Striker class that it should be giving a -2 pip penalty when it currently doesn't. Might possibly make Lockdown more interesting to see it fixed...

I counted incorrectly due to how I had the timing of the respawning blocks in Advanced Training Hall set up, I thought I counted 205 hits for 5 health instead of 200. Since then I, and other people, have confirmed the 40 points per bar to be indisputable, and it has been placed on the Damage wiki page.

@Momofuku Here's the hilarious thing: The -2pip penalty applies to all other tiers except for T3. (to the best of my knowledge)

I assume it had to be done to balance the damage/health ratio or something.

oh dear

Here I am to say it's 40, like everyone else. Yay.

By the way, as far as I know the earliest player to deduce this fact was Kalaina-Elderfall, here. See also his/her earlier study here and the even earlier study by Antistone here. Lots of nerds have studied Spiral Knights.
