And no, walking over spikes doesn't count. That doesn't actually do anything for you but prevent you from getting impatient and walking on them.

I use it as a backup shield.
If I am using my shield a lot and it gets too low on health, I switch to the aura. By the time the aura drains of health my regular shield is usually back up unless it completely broke. This will work a lot better with the ultimate skill that regenerates shields faster,. I forgot it's name though.

I can never remember to do it for the shield one, despite having the shield. I've also tried to stack that with shield bash, but it didn't work well.
The "all out" thing usually gets me hurt cuz the shield breaks after like 2 hits, so I quit trying that.

It's weak to really do much with it...
Far from useless though, if you're under assault from a lot of puppy bullets, you can react fast enough to drop the mew barrier and move to a safe position and attack there. I don't know how much bullet punishment it can take, but if you can take 3, that doesn't seem too bad.
Also there's nothing more cuter than the, "Meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeew" sound Seraphynx makes after it's dropped. It's adorable.

I tend to use it sometimes
I tend to use it sometimes when people are under a barrage of bullets, or are just about to get smacked by Vanaduke because they were too lazy to move two inches to the right. It's also especially handy in that last wave in arenas when you just feel like vortexing everything to death.
Aside from THAT, I use it for large trap sections (I usually carry the team through it), if that counts for anything.

Based on how I see this skill... still not entirely sure
Still hate how it's unlike guardian shield, the duration shorten when you put your teammate under seraphynx's shield.

Yeah. I found use for it like two or three times throughout the whole game and all those instances were the same phase of the same room of the same mission.

This is mostly true. You can't do it vs bigger crowds or it'll break super fast. I like using it vs lone Lichen Colonies.
Another use for it is to water Vana's mask. Pop it and water before it breaks. It's really handy when the intended waterer screws up and you need to get that mask down. I bet it could work with Roarmie Rockets as well.
