Barrus sighed and responded, "Tell him I'm on my way." He closed the channel and marched back towards Haven.
Return to Cradle 2 RP Story Thread
Cicero slaps his thighs, and let's out a heavy sigh.
"Yeah, you do." He says mirthfully.
"So... I'm presuming we aren't going to wait in this shack for an eternity. Where to?" Cicero asks incredulously, franticly trying to re-direct the conversation.
With a irritated step Blesse went over to the man and held out her hand. A moment later the message, recorded based on the message sent from the Baron, played for him. Once it was done she turned around and started back to her work. Fine, I did it. I didn't want to but I did it. Maybe now I can get something done with out getting stopped every fine seconds with some one attacking the city or some one phasing doors out of now where.
[The magical storm ravaged the sacred grove, the plant life within the sacred water started to decay. Elzilia gets caught in the storm, in one desperate attempt, she used her own body to protect Ursulan from being unborn. The jet engine on her back rusted and soon turned into ashes, the bio steel skin on her back also started to erode, despite that, the bio steel is resilient, continuously regenerate even at the face of the overwhelming odds. Ursulan, who also gets caught in the wind, started to return to his adult form.]
Ursulan: *comes to his senses when he is turned back into an adult* “Elzilia?!”
Elzilia: *being eroded by the storm, wrinkles started to appear* “Ursulan… run…”
Judge Xinos: *exhausts his breath* “… This next storm will be your last!” *inhales*
[Affraiel sets off another two thermite charges and collapse the last two beam that is supporting the roof top. The sacred grove crumbles and Judge Xinos falls off from the roof top, but ancient tree isn’t finished yet, he uses his roots to cling on onto the lower beams of the golden spire. He then tries to pull what is left of the roof top down with him.]
Judge Xinos: “I will not be defeated! I am justice and justice I shall prevail!” *pulls down the roof top*
Uruslan: *grabs onto a rock inside the sacred grove* “…Damn! He is going to take use down with him! Elzilia! Kill him! Now!”
Elzilia: *severely aged by the storm* “Ugh… I think I am getting a bit old for this…”
Ursulan: “This is your chance! Xinos left himself wide open, just do it!”
[Elzilia, who got turned into a 50 years old lady, makes one final dash for Judge Xinos’s main body, she can feel the elastin on her face loosened and her blond pony tail bleached. She manages to jump onto Xinos’s main body and started to slash away at his torso. Xinos, unable to hold onto the golden beams, falls to the earth. Elzilia rams the blade deep into Xinos’s bark and splits his head wipe open.]
Judge Xinos: *groans* “Stop! Killing me would mean the end of all justice, no more justice on cradle! Crime will flood the street, do you have any idea what you are doing?!”
Elzilia: “Yes, we are putting an end to you, this world needs not a judge like you, leave the judging to us!” *stabs Xinos heart, beating beneath his ancient bark*
Judge Xinos: *cries* “Noooo!!! …Lord Gwen!!! Avenge… me…” *dies*
[As soon as Xinos’s glowing eyes died down, the golden spire collapsed, this may have explained why the spire could hold its shape despite its ridiculous geometry, the life force of the Judge was keeping the spire intact. Now, all that is left, is a dead tree and a pile of golden ruins. Ezilia, no longer affected by Xinos’s magic, returns back to her former self. The bio steel on her skin integrated with the ancient bark of the now deceased judge Xinos during the battle, the steel now glows bright green, with the ancient essence infused with in, the steel almost instantly recovered the damage that was done and the broken jet engines are also repaired. Ursulan, manages to jump down onto the ground when the spire falls, escaped death with a pair of sour ankles.]
Elzilia: *looks at her new skin* “Whoa… this is great, thank Xinos… hehe, maybe I ‘misjudged’ you afterall…” *chuckles*
Usrulan: *sits down and catches his breath* “Right… one spire down… two more to go…” *calls captain Krypto* “Mister Krypto, this is Manus… me and Reaper have achieved our objective, the golden spire is down. All of its gold ruins are belong to us now… my gunship is lost during the battle with the spire defence force, requesting rearmament. We have also recruited two foreign volunteers, one Isoran, and a Valkyrie… what is our order sir?”
Xindao stands at the Bazaar, waiting for Sono. He can only stand, his blindfold billowing lightly in the breeze. Children play about, and run past him. One stops, and stares for an exorbitant amount of time. Xindao raises his hand and waves in the child's direction, still facing away, and the child runs. Slowly, he brings his gavel out, and holds it to his side. He falters in his place, fidgeting and adjusting his blindfold.
"Why do I have to be the one to come here..." He mutters lazily. "I'm the Highestblood...but there are others with more experie~Vogdanm it, I forget...maybe I am finally getting old? Nah..." Xindao kicks a stone, and it skids into a sewer grate...
"Might as well have some fun..." He sighs, and walks to the manhole across from the grate. Using his hammer, he pries it open, and jumps down, catching the ladder beneath. Closing it and climbing down, he enters a faculty room, by kicking down the door. Walking to the clockwork inside that controls the flow of the Poison created by mixing chemicals here, he walks to the machine. "Well, we do need the rest of the Morai here, and it's not like this wouldn't have happened had I not been here, so..." He raises his hammer, and with a no-cost 0* attack, he slams it down on the machine, the lid breaking off. Pulling out a gear, it shuts off immediately because of an activated safety mechanism.
The room begins filling with Poison, the sewage river doing so too. This could even the odds of Morai vs. Regenerator, as is the Knight-kind that have arrived since Xindao's been away. He walks out, closing and telekinetically locking up the door. Climbing up the ladder, he blows it off with a sharp jab of his hammer, crawling out and closing the lid. He goes to stand where he was before anyone really noticed him, but the child from before was still staring at the strange boy.
Anything I do, anything cruel...
I do it because I love you.
And my toughest choices...
Are the ones that involve your peace.
Having had to watch the man leave Blesse gave up, going back inside and sitting in a chair to calm down. Behind her main console she started to run some basic sub-routens to check Haven for any thing that might stick out. At the same time she sent a message off the Baron telling him the direction of the strange man as well as a warning about what she could gather based on the small moment she had met him.
Lets see, everything seems normal so far. The Bazaar took some heavy damage but nothing that can't be fixed with a little time, same with Town Square. With a few key clicks an warning came up, it seemed some of the sewage lines got clipped and the control rooms where shooting off warnings about backup. Hmm, can't do anything from here. Might as well send in some Engineer's to release the main so it flows out again. Backup like that this close to the surface could do some damage. On a second work computer she typed up a request as the Console finished its work and as she guessed the bulk of the Bazaar was with out power and or missing network access. It was going to take a couple of days for the wires to get laid down but outside of that only thing truly hurt was he Signal station she sent a Intel Officer to work on.
Getting out of her chair Blesse quickly pulled up a log from the Station, only to pick up the audio recordings of Gwen, Cicero, and the Intel Officer. No, I suspected this but why must I be right. Quick as she could Blesse downloaded the log off the Station and into her personal computer built into her suit. This is just andotal at best but it gives me solid proof of a target, perhaps two of them at this point.
Walking over to her board Blesse looked up and at the Console as the Hollow-grid bright up a new image of Gwen. With a quick press of her fingers Blesse called forth a full record of her squad mate called 'Gwen'.
((Thinslayer, can I please have a history of Gwen that this version of the Spiral Order would have. Accomplishments, Criminal history, anything worth noting that the Spiral Order would have on her.))

OOC: Ursulan is calling captain Krypto (admin NPC) for rearmament, thin, please, make something happen…
Flash back: Reaper academy, planet Ruia, Morai home world.
[Elzilia, who is almost eighteen, is running through a circle track with a pair of jet engines in a confined compound of the reaper academy. The running is a daily routine, as a reaper, Elzilia is adapted to a life of blazing across the battlefield at sub sonic speed thanks to the engine thrusters strapped on their back. On the side of the circle track is a monitor room, Ursulan and a technician is carefully surveying Elzilia’s progress. The time for her to finish the track is getting shorter and shorter.]
Uruslan: “Strange, how can she get faster? Her thruster engines are unchanged…”
Technician: “Well, Elzilia is getting used to the G-force, learning to reduce air resistance during her rush attacks, the ability to turn fast at sharp corners as well as avoiding obstacles at time. These are all the essential elements in the making of a good reaper.”
Ursulan: “Hmph… I better get to know about her, so she is the one I am assigned to. Oh, sorry about the intrusion, my name is Ursulan Nizuzas, air lieutenant second class, I would be Elzilia’s supervisor from now on.” *passes a folder of information to the technician* “I would like to have a talk with the reaper girl…”
Techincian: *chuckles* “Okay…” *pulls the alarm* “Alright! Gazincka! Pause your training, you have a guest!”
Elzilia: *halts* “Sorry, I am not meeting anyone today.” *runs off at full thruster* “Bye-”
Technician: *sighs* “There she goes again, running off for the fifth time…”
Ursulan: “Why so? Why does she always act like that? She knows this area is fenced off by concrete walls right?”
Technician: “Elzilia is a troubled girl, she is all yours now… I hope you two can get along… she is probably on the top of that old watch tower again… looking into the distant sky, thinking of what her life might have been…”
Ursulan: “You call the security, I will go to the tower and see if she is there…” *smirks* “She is my responsibility now.”
[Ursulan runs to the old watch tower near the outer boundary of the reaper academy. The tower hasn’t been repaired for years, plants and weeds have long taken over its main structure. On the top of the tower stands a girl, it is Elzilia. Usrulan didn’t hold himself back and climbed up the tower, as soon as he reached the top he finds a place to sit next to her. Elzilia looked blankly at Ursulan, showing a hostile glare at him before looking back into the grey sky.]
Ursulan: *breaks the silence* “Hey, your name is Elzilia Gazincka right?” *reaches out his hand* “The name is Ursulan Nizuzas. It is nice to meet you…”
Elzilia: *bursts out laughing* “Ursulan? What kind of girly name is that? Ursula, Ursulan? Hahaha!”
Ursulan: *flusters* “Well, my parents were hoping for a girl and they planned to name her Ursula, and all they got was a baby boy, so they changed it to Ursulan… and that is my name. So, where are your parents?”
Elzilia: *saddens* “Never met them, ever…”
Ursulan: “…Oh, I just remembered that you were born inside a… look, never mind… but still, why did you run out on my like that? Is there something on your mind? Come on, tell me, I am assigned here as your mission supervisor, you need to share your information with me.”
Elzilia: *nods her head* “Look at my skin…” *her skin is pure metal, with only some of her face remained fleshy* “My skin… it is made of iron, people hate me for it.”
Ursulan: “I think you look good, unique and one of a kind, those metal are designed to protect you in battle though…”
Elzilia: “But I don’t want to fight…” *eyes moisturized*
Ursulan: “I understand, my parents were pretty upset when I told them that I signed up to the Morai orbital fleet. They said that every eight out of ten pilots don’t make it to their 30th call of duty, but I joined anyway.”
Elzilia: “Why? You are not afraid of dying?”
Ursulan: “Of course I don’t, dying is natural… that is a part of being mortal, I am happy with what I am doing, protecting my home planet by joining the orbital fleet, I know I am doing what is right. This is our home after all, it is not the best, but it is what I chose to fight for. So Elzilia, what are you fighting for?”
Elzilia: “I… I don’t know…”
Ursulan: “We will find it someday, we will find what is really worth fighting for and would you promise that we will fight to our last breath defending it?”
Elzilia: *nods her head* “Yes.” *looks back into the horizon* “Wow! The sun is setting! It is, beautiful!”
Ursulan: *points at the sun* “Do you think that is worth fighting for?”
Elzilia: “Yes! The sky, the river, the trees, they are all worth fighting for!” *hugs Ursulan* “Let’s do it!”
Ursulan: *blushes* “Hey! Hey Hey! Let’s not get too over our heads now should we?” *got bitten in the neck by Elzilia* “OUCH! What was that for?”
Elzilia: *giggle* “He he, I left that mark there, so next time when I meet you, I won’t forget who you are. The reaper has got your name!”
[From that day onward, a beautiful friendship is forged between Elzilia and Ursulan.]
Reading over the infromtion Blesse was finding harder and harder to believe what she heard on the audio log from the station. But still it was hard proof that was recording prier to her profiling. How could some one who was so prased go from so high up to so low like this. Either way it needs some more research.
After a moment one of the side computer's had a message coming in, hitting the yes button she waited for the message to open.
The message took the full screen on blesse's computer, with static around the edges, framing the concealed face.
"D-d-dont trust her, you can't. Not now, not ever, after what she's done to us, or to me"
Advancing closer the form takes hold of the camera
"But i can show you, show you what I mean."
An odd fractured mask barely viisable
"She's did this, she brought the war. Needed you, severed the link. Shattered us! sh-"
Turning the camera, it reveals something too blurry to make out
-ACCESS DENIED-
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
And with that, the screen flashed a red exclimation mark, removed the link, and restored it's previous window
Running around Haven, Sono finds Barrus near one of the gates. "Lieutenant Barrus!" He stops in front of him. "Lieutenant Barrus, someone wants to see you at the hall."
The image was stained for a moment but Blesse knew it meant something importen other wise the person who sent it would not have tried to show it. Well if I had the master lock out code I could open up anything reguardless of where I am, but only the Baron has the master lock out code. When he gets back I suppose I should ask him to use it. Outside of that I have no recording or anything like that to prove to anyone what I was just told.
Turning back to the main Console Blesse went about and started hunting down more files on the Squad Members. It was said but she needed more information to see if anyone on the list would be next for the Murder, and she hated to say it but Gwen was the prime suspect if anything. Cicero would be the best to pull up considering what he did but a while ago. Making Gwen's profile smaller on the Holow-screen Blesse started a search on Cicero.
((Yo Malkalack, and you do the same thing Thinslayer did for Gwen's profile but for you're character now please?))
Gwen closed her eyes and laid her head in her arms. "I don't know..." she whined. "I haven't slept in days. A little nap is all I need. They won't find us here if..." She got up and checked the elevator. It was still jammed in place. Grunting in annoyance, she stomped on it several times and forced it down the shaft. She then returned to her spot and curled back up on the floor. "Now they won't find us."
With heavy eyes and even heavier heart (unbeknownst to Cicero), she buried her face in her arms and welcomed the darkness.
And silently she wept.
"Easy... your all right." Cicero says, sensing something is off. He picks Gwen up, and half-drags her into the cot.
"Sleep tight, Gwen." He says quietly, almost reverently. He jams his sword into the ground and partially under the doorknob, essentially jamming it shut. He finds a spot on the carpeted floor, then takes off his armour. He is wearing a tight-fitting T-Shirt, and a pair of track pants. He places his armour on the floor, then lays down on the floor, a few feet away from the cot. His Polaris lies next to him, fully loaded.
Too tired to fight, she allowed Cicero to drag her into the cot. A few moments later, she turned over and looked at him. "Hey...you're not going anywhere, right? I don't mean to impose, but...just stay put?"
"Of course I'm staying here." Cicero says, tiredly. He smiles sheepishly, then stifles a yawn. "Go back to sleep." Cicero then says softly.
"Its - crap - 1:30 AM. Do you Valkyrie types keep weird schedules?" Cicero asks sarcastically, then he lies back down.
Name: Cicero Eregath
Age: 30
Sex: Male
Hair Colour: Brown
Eye Colour: Blue
Weight: 180 lb.
Height: 6"
IQ: 200
Record: Standard. No offences, commendations.
Oaths: Oath of Knighthood. Oath of Valor.
Date Knighted: 3/13/2980
Notes: A likely candidate for promotion, Cicero has portrayed tactical brilliance a multitude of times. See, Document: Uprising... Lorem Ipsum Doler
Well this is kind of a bland record. At least it was up to date. Aside from him turning on his squad captain. Just like Gwen, no reason to believe he has a problem or history behind him to lead to what has happened here. Either the two are mentally ill or some one is playing a very bad joke on me. With a quick clacking of keys Blesse pulled up the content tracker to find Cicero, it came back with the commandline: Unable to be found.
Now their where only two reasons this could pop up, one being the unit was destroyed or two the unit was no longer on this planet. Taking the latter into mind Blesse shook her head. So he just destroyed the only thing we could use to track him, pitty but it was a good idea to do. Now outside of that I should at least get some traction here...
Her work consuming her Blesse found herself mumbling something about her fire in her head as she worked, the mute looking more like a mech then anything else as she studied the data coming in and going out. Only ever pausing to run to the restroom or get a drink which she did not touch causing three glasses of water to be set next to her still full.
Gwen mumbled something unintelligible in reply and went back to sleep.
Dreams soon filled her mind...
I dreamt of sleepless knights beyond;
I never could have guest
That night who is of me so fond
My weary heart could wrest.
Cicero hears a bump, a phantom moaning. Putting on his armour, he takes his sword off the doorknob and peers outside of the cozy little apartment.
He looks around, then sees the culprit. A mewkat. Laughing to himself, Cicero pats the thing on the head, feeds it a cookie and closes the door again with his lever-lock sword. He tries to keep the watch on the door for as long as he can, but sleep falls over his eyes.
Barrus threw open the doors of the Hall and marched inside. "Now, where is that highblood I've been hearing about?" he asked loudly.
Turning around Blesse shruged as she stopped caring once the computer screens where clear, after all her job was leaning more to the computers then anything at the moment. On the screen however she was trying to gain access to higher level files to open the Intel Office's data to get the feed from the dead Knights before they deleted them. The only thing stopping her was the codes, of course she needed the master lockout code other wise she would have to go to the Intel office's and get the information but that could take weeks.
Pointing at the screen she hoped the Baron would understand her need as well as the fact she was pointing out the information pulled up about Gwen and Cicero, compared to the information on the board to her left where she was keeping up to date information based on the Squad's encounter's and information she was able to get ahold of. In a since she was doing what the Intel Office should have been doing, but compressing it all down into a hand full of hour's rather then weeks of getting nothing done because they required massive amount's of paper work and file securing.
Sono was resting near the Arcade, not wanting to leave in case Cicero came back. *Sono, you need to learn to be quiet once in a while. Like that Blesse chick.*
'Eh, who asked you?' He was more intent on staying awake rather than go into another argument.
*Well, what do you think about her?*
"What do I-" Sono stopped himself when he realized he was talking aloud. 'What do you mean 'What do I think about her'?!'
*Whoa, calm down. I was just asking how you felt around her.*
'Awkward. Retarded. Just like how I feel around everyone else on this mission, Why?'
*Nothing, nothing.* Sono scowled, then sighs heavily.
"I just wanna be done with this. I just wanna finish this mission, then go home." He leans back against a tree, sleep overcoming him.
He lifts his head from his trance. He heard something below the street. He presses an ear to the manhole cover, and listens as Engineers attempting to pry open the door, but to no avail, as the dreadful Poison had gunked the locks and dripped from the card slot off to the side. The flooding was up to their protective suits. Xindao backs away from the manhole.
Quickly, he moves away from where he once stood, leaving an Ace of Spades in his place. As anyone near stares, he tightens his blindfold and heads straight for the Garrison. This was the time. He's back there, back at the Garrison. Finally, someone to fill him in and get him started on what he needs to do. Prying open the doors, he walks in, grabs Barrus by the waist, and spins him around. "Hello there, Barrus. Still a Lieutenant? Well, I can say honestly that I'm a bit disappointed, but no matter. I need to be filled in on the current situation here in Cradle. Ah, but introductions. Hello, I am the Highblood Isoran, Xindao Spade. I'm here on account of the King and Queen themselves desiring something from here, as well as me obtaining it."
"Quit pouting and give me a smile. I AM the one that is responsible for your paycheck, after all." Xindao winked, but seeing as his blindfold covered his eyes, no one could tell but him. And that just made his day. He will keep that secret between him and himself. Ohhh the things he can talk to himself about.
He giggles. "Maybe just start with the war part, then the suspects part, and then the trouble with collaborations part, wouldn't you say?"
Barrus narrowed his eyes. "I'd be happy to tell you anything you want to know, but I didn't quite understand your question. What do you mean by 'war part', 'suspects part', and 'collaborations part'? Part of what? War with who? What suspects? Collaborations with who?"
__________
Several hours later, Gwen opened her eyes to find herself still inside the nook in the elevator shaft, and more importantly, still alive. She pushed herself up and glanced around the room, spotting Cicero asleep on the floor. I'd chew him out for not keeping watch, but I'm just happy to be alive. She brushed her hair through her fingers, pulling out a few knots, and stood up to stretch.
Dang, I really needed that. She leaned out of the nook and peeked up through the shaft; since the light was blocked, that meant the elevator had gone back to the surface (and was thus repaired). Glad the gremlins still do their job. I need to give them a raise someday.
She peeked back at Cicero and looked him over. Hmm. He's kinda cute. The armor really doesn't do him justice.
Cicero wakes up, flexing his shoulders. He yawns once, stretching his arms out to the side. He puts on his armour, draping the scabbard over his neck and shoulder. He shoves his sword into it roughly. Then, he stuffs his Polaris into a holster on his belt.
"Good morning," Cicero says cordially. "I trust you slept well?"
Jaxter felt much better after a few drinks and testing out his new leg at the Training Hall. The gun and blade implemented into his leg made him much deadlier, while still maintaining the lightness and silence. It was time to formulate his plans. After capping his bottle, he decided he had to go look for Renao and figure out their next step. Using the Spiral Order com network wasn't a good idea right now.
'I wonder what happened to Cicero...' He thought. 'I hope he's dead.'
Xindao grins. Excellent. "You're unaware of what's happening within your own Order? Tut tut tut, Lieutenant. Well, maybe give me the recent, er, events that may have been important or transpired when the Morai attacked. It would be most appreciated." He smiles almost sweetly up at Barrus, but holds the gavel behind his back in a leisurely and judgmental manner. "I love a good story..."
Oh, but if only there was someone who treasured my presence...
That would be fantastic enough for me...
And all adventures and all the stress that makes me so tense...
Could finally be free.
Meanwhile, the gods and devils are posted
Above the infamous Cradle of their kind
Watching from above, their children feeding on red
Their Judge giving judgment, being fair and blind
And all who oppose this movement, this act
Oppose the law of which the Judge provides
They will be lies, the Judge being the fact
And they will face him, that which divides.
Luke was back at Haven. After he looked over the list, he decided to take a trip down to the level one of the murders were at. There, he was attacked by a construct, and after defeating it, he obtained the last few materials needed to upgrade his Defender. Adding them in, Luke alchemized his sword into a Tempered Calibur. Taking the new sword in hand, Luke swung it around experimentally. Balanced, and yet some weight to it. A fine blade. Sheathing the new sword, Luke brought his mind back to the current task. Hmm, no one is suspected, the others seem to be more inclined to go after the white council. Is there some sort of evidence that shows that they did the murders? He headed to the Hall and waited until the Baron was free, then he stated his question. "Can you give me a review on our objective? I thought it was to investigate more on the recent murders, or am I mistaken and its to hunt down the White Council?"
For Midnight-Dj
Kyrto folded his hand behind his back and opened a video channel to Elzilia. "Greetings, and congratulations on completing your last assignment. Now I want you to track down this 'Valkyrie Queen' I've been hearing about and try to recruit her. Failing that...you know what to do. She's been killing knights herself, so I'm not too keen on disturbing her work. Understood?"
For Colray
"Both," Barrus replied. "The murders are thought to be caused by the White Council. Hunt them down and kill them. Is your objective clear?"
For Malkalack
"Yes, I slept well, thank you." Gwen stared at him, a playful glint in her eye hinting that she was in a good mood. "Say, would you be averse to visiting the Morai with me? I think it would behoove us to introduce him to this world," she said with a wink.
Luke saluted, "Yes Sir!"
As he walked away from the Hall, he decided to go for one of the council members that were definitely not good.
The Snarbolax.
Realizing he would need help, he decided he would ask Sono, or Jaxter, or even Renao. He wandered around randomly, hoping to spot them doing something. At one point he saw Sono taking a nap, and decided not to wake him yet. He saw Jaxter looking for someone.
"Hey, Jaxter I'm thinking of knocking off one of the council members, the Snarbolax. I was wondering if you could join me? I'm going to ask Renao and Sono as well."
"Averse? No, not at all." Cicero says seriously, not prepared to joke about the Morai.
He picks up his sword, twirls it experimentally and slams it into his sheathe.
Right, why do I rely on them? Oh wait they are using me like some kinda information officer. I won't lie I mean it makes since after all I was able to take down a fleet of ships with nothing more then network and those on it...Still better send out some information so these idiot's don't die.
Taking a moment Blesse removed her hood, pulling back the cloth and removing the face plate. Aside from some burns, the only thing that stuck out was the fact half her check on her right side was removed exposing the inside of her mouth slightly. It was subject to a forth degree burn in the area but still she seemed to not have any problem working around it. Picking up her glass she drank all three cups of water before going back to work with her hood down, the brown hair attacked to her head spank out as she typed on the key board.
Attention to all Knights assined to hunt down the White Council. It has resonantly come to the attention of the Spiral Order that the own known as Lady Gwenivere Sintaris Valentine, Vanguard of the highest order is the Murder behind the resent killings of fellow Knights. Though we grieve at this information, it is backed by proof of Audio, visual and logged data. As it stands, currently Gwenivere Sintaris Valentine is now labled a tradior and a criminal. Currently she is wanted: Alive. Do not go near her alone for she is a skilled fighter, but one who must be brought before the courts to be judged by a fair and honest council.
Blesse's heart sunk as she sent the message to all the Knights who were in the Military Police, the Baron, and those in her Squad. Yet no matter how much she hated the truth, she could not deny the facts which were.
Sono stirred awake to the sound of a new message. Getting up to stretch, he began reading the message. As he read it, his face slowly became overwhelmed with shock. Finishing the last sentence, Sono just stood there, dumbfounded. "Gwen ... Gwen is... She's..." He struggled to think, this new imformation clouding his thoughts.
"... Tros."
*I read it. She's the Queen Valkyrie.*
"We have to...."
*No. We don't have to do anything. Not now anyways.*
Sono wasn't listening anymore. He moved over to the lift Cicero went down. "She's... They're...."
*Sono, I know what you're going to do. And as you conscious, you're close friend... I won't stop you.*
"... Thanks... Tros."
Selecting "public broadcast", Cicero sends out a message to the entire Order.
"I have thrown in my lot with Gwenivere. Any knights who come from her, have ME to answer to. Cicero out."
Stepping out onto the crunchy snow of the first depth, Sono cupped his hands to his mouth. "CICEROOO!! GWEEEN!!" He waited in silence for a reply, wolvers howling in the distance.
Sono went over to the Arsenal Station and pulled out his Ash Tail Coat. "Guh, I hate the cold." He trudged off through the snow, trying to contact Cicero through his Com-Link. The call failing, he heard growls from behind him. Sono turned around, finding a lone Frostifur with a scar on it's eye. He pulled out his shield, but not Gokai or Doragon, in an attempt to show he meant no harm. However, two Alphas came into view, followed by several more Frostifurs.
'Ooh boy.' Sono slowly backed away, surprise to see the Wolvers weren't following him. Instead, they were trained on something behind him. When he turned around, a Silversap swung right down onto his shield. The ground cracked around them, the Wolvers fearing for the safety of their home. Forced into a dire situation, Sono removed his Doragon and shot it right into it's "head", causing it to explode.
Sono shook his arm's sudden numbness away. The Silversap tipped over and fell off the edge of the platform they were on. Now that the Construct was gone, the Frostifurs yipped in joy, running over to and licking Sono all over the place as thanks. Before he can say anything, the Wolvers burrow away back to their tunnels. "... *sigh*" He put his gear away and headed towards the lift, pressing the button to go down.
Gwen tossed her hair and put a hand on her hip. "Hey, lighten up a little, Cicero! It'll be fun. We're going to dine with Captain Kyrto, so just think of it as going on an exotic date with me. It's my treat." She winked and flipped a hidden switch that summoned the elevator.
Then she heard the broadcast. Her heart sank a little, but she chose not to let it get to her. What bugged her was Cicero's response broadcast. Really, you didn't have to say anything on my account... Determined not to alienate him again, she forced herself to relax, closing her eyes and taking in a deep breath. "Okay. Let's go." She stepped onto the elevator and waited.
She will never listen, but this isn't a great idea. Cicero thinks to himself, then realizes that she can read his thoughts. He forces mind to become a blank slate, then nods.
He steps onto the elevator and smiles at her. It was a weak smile, probably not a great reassurance. But a smile none the less. He makes a weak thumbs up, and a small smile.
"Let's go kill some Morai." Cicero says a little too firmly, slamming the up button.
Once Cicero send his message Blesse started to laugh in her mute tones. The fool just gave himself away, and with him Gwen's location as well. Of course the trail was going to go cold and she only had a little time, not wasting a second the firebug started a revers track of the message. It took less time then she had though, thanks to the fact he sent the message from a some where with a computer of some sorts.
On the big screen she made a map of Their location as well as a prediction track. Taking the moment she sent a message to everyone in the Squad.
Come back to the Hall of Heroes. I have importen information regarding the location of Gwen the Queen and her new traveling buddy. This is not a request any more but a Order based on Intel at HQ.
Cicero and Gwen were left out of the look for reasons of them changing their course.
They stood in silence for a while as the elevator ascended. At length, Gwen decided to speak her mind. "Talk to me, Cicero. What's bugging you?"
Yes, I heard your thought.
The message crackled clearly on the com link. It was Cicero, and he had just sealed his fate.
"I have thrown in my lot with Gwenivere. Any knights who come from her, have ME to answer to. Cicero out."
'Well, isn't that convenient.' Jaxter thought. 'Thanks for making me look innocent, Cicero.'
As he walked by the Coffee Shop, he saw Renao sipping from a mug of coffee on a corner table, and walked over to her.
"I see you're not much of a drinker," He said, pointing to the mug and then drinking from his own bottle. "But we need a plan. We can't really use the Spiral Order com links, they can track us. In fact, we may need to tinker with our helmets a bit. And Cicero, we need to deal with him."
"Soon."
"My own life... is irrelevant. You are more important to my, than I am. I cannot shake the feeling, that they will capture you, parade you in front of Barrus and execute you when we get up there. I feel like.... we are doomed before we start. I can tell they are homing in on my broadcast, that was a mistake. I ripped out my tracker, but... they will be able to find us. And I can't protect you if I am dead, and you are captured." Cicero explains, not lying in the slightest.
And I'm worried you will die, and I will survive. That is my worst-case-scenario. Cicero thinks, forgetting she can read minds.
As romantic as that sounded, Gwen did not seem particularly touched by it. Rather, she took it as new strategic information, and was staring off into the distance as she considered the tactical implications of it. His loyalty to me over his own life would prove useful for shielding me. As it is immoral to use others as human shields, the only other possible use for his loyalty would be...if we supported each other, watching our backs. Simple team operations should now be possible. I'll need to get a good feel for his capabilities before I can plan around that. Close quarters, ballistic, stealth, recon, and interception missions should be tested before we do anything major. She looked up. The elevator was approaching the surface.
Supposing we kidnapped Lieutenant Barrus...
Sono receives the message from Blesse before he can even get to the next depth. Sighing, he stops the lift and makes it send him back to the surface. "No point in trying to find them now."
"Gwenivere... there is a way to stop the manhunt for you. I have been compiling a mental list, of everyone who is most likely to be gunning for you and me. Jaxter will be out for blood. Maybe he has snared the assassin to his cause, damn him. Barrus, as well. If we killed all these knights, the search would effectively have it's head cut off." Cicero says darkly.

Maybe he has snared the assassin to his cause, darn him, and Barrus as well. If we killed all these knights, the search would effectively be decapitated," Cicero said darkly.
Gwen shook her head. "No. I would become guilty of the very crime for which they pursue me, and I would sooner die than have innocent blood on my hands. Furthermore, killing those who are gunning for us would likely be pointless, since I suspect Blesse broadcasted her message to all knights within radio range. Killing Barrus would be a particularly heinous offense that would move our targeting priority up from 'shoot on sight' to 'hunt down and kill' priority. And I, for one, do not want the whole Spiral Order actively hunting me down."
"No, I think our best option is to convince the Order, and Barrus in particular, of our innocence. I only seek to kill those knights who have murder on their minds, saving lives. Convincing anyone of this cause will be a long shot, but it has a much better chance of success than your plan. Do you agree?"
Gwen deadpanned, looking him straight in the eye. "I think you do know."
I bet he's still in love with me.
