Hello all,
I am very new to this game, but enjoying it thoroughly.
I was just wondering if anyone could give me any tips on which Tier 2 Gun to get/aim for? I am getting myself a cutter tomorrow when I get enough energy, so my next aim is a good gun. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you,
BlazeShaman

Hard to say

Depends on what you want. The alchemers (especially volt and cryo) are often considered pretty good for the status effects and ricochet. Some people are also fond of the autoguns. And the blasters are perfectly fine middle-of-the-road guns. Main disadvantages is alchemers are slow (2 shots/reload), autogun stops you from moving when firing, and the blaster only does normal damage, so is not as specialized.

hmm, I like to be able to move while firing.

hmm, I like to be able to move while firing... I'll have a look into alchemers. Do they have a good alchemy path? Or does it not matter?

I would recommend a Magnus or

I would recommend a Magnus or Antigua for specialized work, and either the Volttech/Cryotech Alchemer or Blaster for your primary.

Tier 2 gun

I am personally going with a cryotech alchemer line and the magnus line. Ill probably main the cryo, though, as the freeze is just so handy. Its also why Im going with the freezing vaporizer bombs.

Oh yeah

Magnus is OK, but it stops you when firing (major kickback) which I found problematic. Also, primary enemies to shoot are constructs for me, at least, so an elemental weapon is generally preferred in my case.

magnus for killing wolvers,

magnus for killing wolvers, blaster for everything else.
antigua is nice but unless you have a good connection most of your shots won't register.

From a master gunslinger

Avoid autoguns and antiguas. Autoguns leave you standing still for so long that the enemies will either be out of the way, or already hitting you. Antigua lines (I own Sentenza and Silversix) have split damage, making them a bit weak/average regardless of resistances.
For tier 2 I'd say go with an Alchemer (Cryo and Volt usually are favored) or with a Magnus depending on your wep setup, seeing how you have a cutter you would probably benefit with an Alchemer the best since you want the elemental damage to things you don't want to get close to.
If you are looking to become a gunslinger, here's a good place to understand what you need to know http://forums.spiralknights.com/en/node/5286

I say go for firo line, fire

I say go for firo line, fire really adds to the damage, oilers aren't too common in tier2 and you just need to avoid fire stratums. You also get to pick off gun puppies at a safe range, shielding is fast as long as you learn the timing to not get the gun into the reloading animation. Shock isn't too noticeable at all and the damage is subpar, freezing mobs with cryo is voided by the ricochet of its own bullets so you don't get the awesome damage mobs would get from thawing naturally.

Another awesome gun is Magnus, the stun rate isn't too great but when you get to stun the menderer you can easily sword him to death without him having to dodge your swings (if you have a slow sword its hard most times to get a hit on them because they dodge). You can't kite with him as you stand still while shooting but you can adapt to that after few days (at least i did) Picking off Wings is a also good thing. Magnus really gets a lot of help from auto-aim, so be sure to have it enabled when not sniping and have a key for disabling auto-aim when you snipe (i use shift and have autoaim enabled by default). As long as you see the lock-on circle on the mob and shot you'll hit it. Unless its a Wing, those are a mystery for me, i can't hit them with auto-aim on but can snipe them down with it disabled really well, even at huge distances. The only real problem for Magnus are gun puppies, you will do little to no damage to them, but devilites, wolvers will get a solid spanking. Oh, and btw, Magnus manages to "juggle" bombers so thats another big pro.
