I have a glacius and am currently working on a volt edge but should I make a combustor and use that instead?

Combuster is pretty nice sword to use, but really it depends on how much you like the attack style etc.
If you don't already have them, I'd go for other weapons before becoming SUPER BRANDISH HERO because they're really all about the same.
Yes. If you like steamrolling enemies instead of freezing them still, go for it.
