Sure, now we can keep doing missions, but forge. then theres also the spark of life.. no more free revs! It was a lot easier to get to vanguard without forge and with mist. and orbs. sure, it helps get more gear, but now u cant use mist to help craft the gear! And hunting for orbs is a pain. its kinda impossible to get em unless u do SK 24/7. I just made a new account, im now a defender elite, been defender elite for a while. i found no orbs at all, and all i do with that account is hunt for em. and when i get shinings, i get bout 12 per run, and each run takes like 30mins for me. I keep on complaining to friends that forge keeps failing, and its impossible to get to level 10, and those people just tell me to do 100%. 100% for a 4* is like 100 shinings! i dont have that much time! If u arent gonna change this back, at least put a forge station for boss depths!
Bring back mist!
No.
Literally everything we used to do with Energy prior to the Sprite update we can now do for free in one way or another (except things such as opening gates and bribing King Krogmo), so there is literally no reason to bring back Mist except for the fact that you are lazy.

I love it when people create a alt account just to make a suggestion that will never be added
Just go back to Haven and forge. Simple right? And it really is not all that smart to be rushing in a game (unless your confident you won't get hit in a depth). You'll not really learn much and will die maybe 1-3 times.

Maybe.... if we remove his squishy parts... he can't suggest this anymore.... MUHUHAHA
SO THIS IS WHAT FORMATS ARE
HERP DERP
I would insert this nifty rant about stuff, but Dibs beat me to it.
-1.
< insert rant about how bad the suggestion is >
< insert random unnessesary giant story to do absoulutly nothing >

If orbs are a pain for you, then just buy them from the supply depot. The orbs in the supply depot cost the same as the old crafting system.
and when i get shinings, i get bout 12 per run, and each run takes like 30mins for me
Something tells us that you've never played in Tier 3 arcade before.
Let's bring back the feature that caused more than half the playerbase to quit before even getting to Tier 2. Brilliant idea.
There's a dire difference between blaming Mist Energy and blaming elevator costs.
Once apon a time there was a man
Unfortunatly for you, I am too lazy to make a full blown story to show my (un)love for this thread
Let me just summerize
Mist energy was added, and everyone was sad, especially the man I mentioned earlier
The End
I really doubt mist caused the player base to decrease, because when we still had mist the player base was at it peek, I'm still not to sure why mist was removed but i think was probably to respond to negative rating it got from certain game reviewer who main complaint was that mist made play time really limited.
The elevator cost could have been solve a number of ways
-For one they could have reduced the cost for lower tiers such as tier 1 cost only 5 mist rather 10 and the rest of the tiers would cost 10, this would appeal to the newer player being able to do twice as many levels.
-Another thing they could have was increased the amount of power surge weekend (and for those who do not know it was basically a Friday-Sunday event in which elevator cost were half off, sometimes there would be these big raffle in which they gave away 1000ce every hour and there was also some energy promo happening at the same time). They used to happen once a moth for about 3 months but then just stopped and then half off elevator became a means to make up for sever down time. If these happen twice month the game would have fair off a lot better, not all them would have need raffles but the sheer half off would have benefited the game.
-make elevator passes purchase able via energy and come in various length sizes like two week and 30 day pass which could have costed 1000 and 2000 ce to buy. Though this might be the worst idea because it could affect energy prices
Personally I like having mist because (pros):
-I could craft one piece of two star gear without much effort and still play 5 levels
-it created mist well which even though they were easily exploitable still gave a partial solution to the mist problems
-It kept energy price from sky rocketing too quickly because it limited the abundance of crowns (well this was accurate until they made mission mode and vanaduke became farm-able 2 a day and for a large time offer 12k cr per run)
-You could use your mist in many ways so that if one day you can't play for a long time you could still due something profitable such as crafting.
But I didn't like mist because (cons):
-It limited my game play time too much especially when I started out (to about 1 hour) and game play time didn't become reasonable until tire 3.
-Revives costed ce which also heavily limited your play time
-When ever I ran out of mist and some one logged on I could help them because I was out of mist and could not join.
Mist had its up and down but over all the player base was larger and from the perspective of when I was playing in game I didn't here to many people rage about it.
What did cause over half the player base to leave? Most likely the lack of content being updated.
During the first year that I started playing there were lots of updated, they AH and the training hall where the newest features when I started and a month later the snarbolax was added and another month-ish later we got the the roarmulus twin and soon after that when got punch and vise and then we got blast net work, and after that we got shadow lairs and then we got lock down (or was it first lock down then shadow lair I forget). And some where in the same time span we got accessories and the punkin king also made his first appearance.
After that we enter an era of cosmetics and nothing really new. Mission mode in the same sense didn't offer much until the OCH and danger mission came along.
But back on to the subject of mist It can't come back at least not in the same form, if it has any hope it could be brought back as a type mp (magic point or mist point) which I stated in one of my previous thread that I wont bother to look for.
Mist limits gameplay. It's a nice way to say "You've done enough today", but then you just spend the rest of your time in lockdown or something.
The replacements for energy-related things (sparks of life, orbs of alchemy) are great. They're completely free, and if you need some faster, then that's when you pay up your energy.
The only thing I'm sad about is the lack of support for paying players. Paying six dollars for unlimited elevators is neat, but now everyone gets it. The game is truly more "free to play".
I loved the old system, but the new one lets me actually play the game with my friends more, rather than just play it alone or with strangers. (Not hating on you strangers, but it's so much more fun to delve into the clockworks with your friends!)
This idea will only hurt the community. I vote this the worst suggestion ever in Spiral Knights. They should not only close, but remove this thread. Not having everything everywhere costing energy is the best change idea ever! Just think how large the community would've stayed if they thought of this awhile ago. I can name at least a couple dozen friends that quit due to it taking too long to do anything without spending money. ...sigh if only game companies could think of these things, but it seems great ideas can never be at first, but too late.
This game is actually a free to play game now. Never was in my opinion when mist was around.
@Strikingdragon no, the worst suggestion ever in Spiral Knights is dual wielding, I don't even know how many dual wielding threads there are
And there's no way mist is coming back. With the radiant drops increased to D26 and a rare chance in D24 and D25, the forge is near perfect now.
@Pipipipipi = Dual welding is one of the best ideas ever....especially for the gunslinger. I don't visit the forums much, but that would get my vote! +1 on that idea!
And so, I have gotten Strikingdragon's opinion on dual weilding even though I never asked, but that doesn't change the fact that dual weilding is a horrible suggestion for spiral knights
Actually, you're both wrong. Remember the Sky Clockworks, Pipipi?
You're all wrong the worst suggestion was ce price regulation, though yes ce price did have sudden price increases that where unreasonable the root of the problem wasn't ce but the over abundance of crowns with some exploitable mission which actually was addressed when they nerf the crown pay from KoA from 12k to 8k cr.
Dual wielding is horrible, as pointed out in only like twenty threads.
And no free mist that doesn't need elevators. No one would ever buy 1-2* orbs ever. Welcome back to the era of spam crafting for UV's with alts! Enough Brandishes to fill up all of space are on the right. Wolver Coats and Caps are in Aisles 3-173. Magic gear is everywhere. Biotech Hahn has committed suicide.
By far the worst suggestion ever was to mention your worst suggestion ever, cause everyone is right, but by doing so you are all wrong! :P
In my personal opinion, the worst suggestion is Tier 4 and/or 6* weapons and armors.

one of the worst suggestions is my first suggestion
Plot twist: 'Bring-Back-Mist' is a GM's alt, and they made this thread to see the reactions of people to Mist energy.
And embarass myself? No way!
We've all had our embarrassing moments. Some *looks at Ultimatesonic* more than others.
Dibs, that's so absotubaley retarded it might actually be a thing.
sigh, fiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiine
nope, not really
As a matter of fact, I'm going to go and graveyard that peice of junk
I was stupid back then, ok?
I actually suggested shields work even after the energy breaks. You don't hear me complaining about it.
cuz it isn't as bad as what I suggested
@OP
Who are you before you changed your name? Or are you an alt, a new player or something?
-1 for you. Mist, really? You wanna bring it back? That was a pain in the butt when i was T2.
Oh Luguiru! Hear our call from beyond the beyond, and come show this fool his folly! His utter farce! His dumbness!
I'd love if they brought back mist as a lore thing, maybe having small 20-mist container rarities in the clockworks that are as rare or slightly rarer than orbs and basically act as a discount tag for things in the supply depot. Either that or players could use a mist container to open a single energy door.
But bringing back mist energy in its entirety would be a bad move for Three Rings.
but heres a good suggestion. A boss who wants to bring back mist to us so we have to go through a series of levels to go and defeat him before he puts mist back.the rank you will get from doing all these missions will be mist buster. :D

The current system of crafting and heating means that somebody can get to 5* without needing energy AT ALL. No CE, no mist, if you don't want to fund OOO for some ungodly reason than you don't have to. Personally I see absolutely no reason not to be willing to fund a game you enjoy but if you take pride in being able to say "I have never directly or indirectly given money to OOO." than this is the update for you. Yes, it means you may have to grind a bit, but there you go.
This is from somebody that had quite a few crafting alts who lost a nice chunk of income in game from the change also, I'm just smart enough to see that its better for your average player.
~Gwen
The idiot who made this thread hasn't even replied.
/thinks about the thread about turning mist into swag points
Although Mist was helpful when we were crafting and getting things from the Supply Depot, half the things we needed energy for we can now get through drops in the Clockworks and as mission rewards.
Elevator Prices ruined SK for F2P and P2P players alike. I doubt anyone wants this greedy money scheme to come back!
With mist you could hardly do 3 missions a day, let alone crown farming with 100 ME unless you waste money on an elevator pass. As a person who's played SK long before ME's removal; I think in my opinion that this is a terrible idea.
You know, I was a f2p not p2p, and it took me almost a year to earn 5 star before mist was removed....... soooo -1
I would say that having mist back to buy orbs and what not would be nice, but that would be a bit cheap. The system now is perfectly fine. I mean, I don't find many orbs that often to tell you the truth. But having those free elevators is probably the best thing the player base wanted because only 10 elevators per day on the old system was really killing me. You say you aren't advancing quickly because of the lack of orbs during runs? Well, bring back mist and the elevator fees with no orbs, and it'll take you even longer. Pick your poison.
Everything i wanted to say but it was not me.
Aalso, -1 to OP
Edit
@Mala... ehh... lkak?
Quick! Lets lay some BLT sandwiches here as bait for the almighty BOX
"Pick your poison."
I'd just like to point out that while true the current system is great, it was nothing like the old system. I think you're forgetting about Elevator Passes. Just a few bucks for free Elevators for the month. A few bucks now can, well, heat a couple weapons. While it's true that the old system was flawed in that it limited play time, the new system limits quick advancement, with the exception of all the hand-outs OOO's gives new players for completing the missions.
Don't think I'm ripping on the new system or anything, I'm just sayin' we have nothing comparable to an Elevator Pass now, something many people used to use. Once something like that comes out for the paying player-base, I'd like to think threads like this would become almost non-existent.
but im sure u know what i mean... i hope...
