Alright, I got to thinking about doing an newspaper review of Spiral Knights and I realized there was a conspiracy theory in the game. Warning spoilers for every last Shadow Lair and what not. Alright, first off it seems that there is some entity the dreams within Cradle as seen through the Echo Stones you get from the Shadow Lairs, giving us a few insights, 1. The Sanctuary is only fleeting safety from the Swarm (Tier 4 Guild Defense possibility? I mean it used to say at the bottom of the Guild Hall page on the wiki that Guild Halls would be used to sheltered knights from the Darkness, with monsters having been seen on Cradle's surface, not only in the Clockworks.). 2. The entity knows that the Spiral Knights crashed here and that they need to continue searching for the Core else the Swarm will defeat them. 3. The Cradle and the Clockworks is constructed out of multiple worlds, thus the reasoning for the Legions of Almire and the undead Kat Tribe. Also, the Gremlin King was responsible for turning it into a death trap. Jerk. 4. The Swarm was created from the entity's dreaming and consumes all, gaining its power from the denizens of the Clockworks. Here's more stuff, the very name of the planet is Cradle, what do you do with a Cradle? You rock a baby to sleep in it. The core is believed to have massive energy readings, thus it is very powerful. The Alpha Squad went missing and entered the Core, entered the Light, as the Darkness surrounded them, the Swarm. It seems that the Swarm created the Unknown Passage as the Alpha Squad neared the Core in order to add them to it's collective power only for the Core open the Pathway to the Sanctuary. Notice the level of the Core depth is "The Core: The Path is Sealed" which implies the Core sealed off it's gateway into the Sanctuary. The Swarm noticeably doesn't have any fiends in it but has a member of every other monster family, so it must have gained it's power from the shadows of the creatures in the Clockworks after they died. How else do you explain Lord Vanaduke's very apparent death only for him the return as the Swarm-Cursed enhanced Dark Fire Vanaduke? It was his soul. "As I dreamed, it consumed. It devoured the knowledge of time... Memories of the dead... The hearts of kings and the souls of their people... Good and evil... It consumed. It grew stronger, endlessly mirroring itself within the space of my dream. Endlessly mirroring... Expanding... Infinite. What it was before, it is no more. Neither beast nor god, it is a creation unlike all. It is... The Swarm." -Echo Stone: Firestorm Citadel. Notice in it it says that is consumed the hearts, souls, and memories of people, the vary fabric of their existence and their power. I propose this using all of this evidence. The Core is in fact a sentient being of energy that has the Sanctuary inside it and can only be accessed through the Unknown Passage with Cradle and the Clockworks being it's protective shield. The end of Spiral Knights is when the entire Spiral Knights (any one else find out they were a space-faring army?) destroy the Swarm and the Core repairs the Skylark. There's only one problem, if one Squad was killed by Dust Zombies, and we destroyed a Knight-Trojan mix, then how come they don't show up in the Swarm? Well I assume the Knights went to Spiral Heaven (free energy and prize boxes!) as for the Fiends we all destroyed went to limbo, assuming dimensional travel is possibly, then again Trojans are from another dimension altogether and were summoned by fiends. Any pieces of evidence I missed or ideas why I'm wrong? Humor me.

“Humor me.”

What do two snails do when they get into an argument?

They slug it out.

For those of you who were unable to comprehend the chunky paragraphs, I divided it down a bit:

Alright, I got to thinking about doing an newspaper review of Spiral Knights and I realized there was a conspiracy theory in the game.

Warning! Spoilers for every last Shadow Lair and what not! D:{ (Bolted Vee)

Alright, first off it seems that there is some entity the dreams within Cradle as seen through the Echo Stones you get from the Shadow Lairs, giving us a few insights:

  • The Sanctuary is only fleeting safety from the Swarm (Tier 4 Guild Defense possibility? I mean it used to say at the bottom of the Guild Hall page on the wiki that Guild Halls would be used to sheltered knights from the Darkness, with monsters having been seen on Cradle's surface, not only in the Clockworks.)
  • The entity knows that the Spiral Knights crashed here and that they need to continue searching for the Core else the Swarm will defeat them.
  • The Cradle and the Clockworks is constructed out of multiple worlds, thus the reasoning for the Legions of Almire and the undead Kat Tribe. Also, the Gremlin King was responsible for turning it into a death trap. Jerk.
  • The Swarm was created from the entity's dreaming and consumes all, gaining its power from the denizens of the Clockworks.

Here's more stuff, the very name of the planet is Cradle! What do you do with a Cradle guys? You rock a baby to sleep in it. Not toddlers, not kids, not maturing acne-covered self-loathing teenagers, babies. The core is believed to have massive energy readings, thus it is very powerful. The Alpha Squad went missing and entered the Core, entered the Light, as the Darkness, AKA the Swarm, surrounded them and generally became really annoying. Like that orange thing in those Youtube videos. It seems that the Swarm created the Unknown Passage, as the Alpha Squad approached the Core in order to add them to its, not it's, collective power only for the Core open the Pathway to the Sanctuary.

As I dreamed, it consumed. It is... The Swarm.

~The Echo Stone most people don't care about after lumping it in their Arsenal, acquired from UFSC.

Notice in it it says that is consumed the hearts, souls, and memories of people, the vary fabric of their existence and their power. I propose this using all of this evidence: The Core is in fact a sentient being of energy that has the Sanctuary inside it and can only be accessed through the Unknown Passage with Cradle and the Clockworks being it's protective shield. Well, I assume the Knights went to Spiral Heaven (free energy and prize boxes ZZZZZOOOOOOMMMMMGGGGG!)

As for the Fiends that we all destroyed and brutally slaughtered in revenge for making some of us do captive, those that are bye-bye went to limbo, assuming dimensional travel is possible. Then again Trojans are from another dimension altogether and were summoned by fiends. Any pieces of evidence I missed or ideas why I'm wrong? Humor me.

I'll probably reply later.

I love conspiracy theories. I

I love conspiracy theories. I have them all the time. Although I've been known to get temp bans from voicing my theories on the forums. Even though I make it quite clear its a theory and not truth.

I don't understand anything. /cry

Maybe I should just advance the levels in the game until I can comprehend some of this.

Wild Wall Mage appeared!

Of each type of forumer, here we have found the Wall Mage!

Conspiracy theories are fun aren't they? For my own theory: I feel like something has to do heavily with fiends. I haven't spent much time trying to piece things together, but so far I have come to the conclusion that the Swarm is terrifying and fiends are not in it.

Am I a good detective or what?

Edit: @Poomph: But of course!

Con-spic-ary.

I'm not sure what your conspicary theory is exactly. That seems to be a vague idea of what happens in Spiral Knights to boot. Though I did read the Sandwhich-Potato version, so it might not be as accurate as the original OP.

Just so you know, I've read both version, as Necromancers have an immunity to Wall Mages. Sandwich's version was pretty much the same thing, but it actually used bullets and that return key.

It's a good thing that Smart-Alecks also developed an immunity to Paragraph Crammers and Wall Mages back in the Luguiru epidemic; otherwise, most of the forumers would be unable to reply.

I would reply, but I disagree with your reasoning in several core aspects, and I'm too lazy to make a rant retort.

"Here's more stuff, the very name of the planet is Cradle!"
Uh, okay.
"What do you do with a Cradle guys?"
Oh don't tell me.
"You rock a baby to sleep in it."
This is gonna be another one of those Giygas conspiracies, is it?
