So I have my Heater Shield and Ironmight Plate Shield both with Fire max resist UV's.
Those UV's only cover one-half the bar for resist.

I'm not suggesting anything, but what if shield UV's were double stacked?
Armor and helms stack together to get your true defense, but would it be too OP to ask for shield UV's to be double stacked the same way as in armor?

Increased defense UV's are a joke, and at best my Ironmight can still only tank 2 hits of Oiler turrets.

If shields had better defense or status resist UV's, would you be willing to use them more often?
It would offer more shield diversity and perhaps lead people to pursue different types of shields.

INB4 Swiftstrike buckler is best shield; why use anything else.

Make it a suggestion, and +1.

They should be doubled anyway since we can't stack something else like we can with armour. It only makes sense that a max UV actually gives max.

Lots of Shields are

Lots of Shields are underrated.

Plate Series, Omega Shell line, Royal Jelly etc.
I think this would be a step in the right direction for Shield rebalancing.

@Paintool

Can you explain the "double-stack" part? I don't get it.

Yes.

Not many of my shields have UVs and the ones that do are rather weak. (Piercing low, shadow med, bad stuff like that).

Double stacking on shields may not make them much more useful in my case, but I'm sure it would help many others who actually got a high+ status UV. Anything that can help bring more diversity to shields is great.

One day, someone will bring a Scarlet Shield into Tier 3. Not as a joke, but as a Swift Strike replacement. That should be the ultimate goal of shields.

Omega Shell line has more hp than all other shields.
Currently shields are the equivalent of one piece of armor, in terms of resistances (equivalent of half a set). The key is that it is a regenerative hp.
Armor calculations in general should be rebalanced, not just shields alone, to give a resistance edge to tankier armor. Status resists are where shields really help, as they take damage (unless they are immune) and block the status completely.

One of the points being that a Max Status UV on a shield only gives half the bar, so it doesn't actually give it max defense.
