This is how I feel after crashing my shield into an enemy's face. Or what have they.

So far I recall doing this successfully in the following scenarios:

  • Against a Retrode's beam attack; I was on the farther half of this enemy's beam column when he fired. The moment he fired, I bashed it good, clearing the area where the damage would take me if I did not act sooner. I do not think I could recreate that attempt unless I happen to get caught up at the last moment.
  • Against a swarm of Glop Drops's advance; I was feeling playful in a party of half-panicked and half-brave players on either a Tier 2 or Tier 3 floor when I decided to forego my bomb or broad sword (some details escape me). To give an ally space to retreat from their attack formation, I charged them while expecting to be damaged. Lo and behold, no damage was acquired.
  • Against Gremlins and Jelly Cubes; when entering the Explosive Blocks danger room, the battle between my party and the enemy was prolonged by a little mender in the center of the action. Shooting at it specifically was a bit difficult as other enemies got in the way. So to make a way to it regardless of what would hit me, I shield bashed through the center to single him out before putting it to rest without a silent night. This proved successful throughout so I repeated.
  • Against Tier 3 Wolvers; occasionally they can be difficult to pick apart when they move so much. This is moreover the case with a party half full of gunners. So, upon charging them, I thought to both slow their movement and make them more visible with the stun animation overhead.
  • Against Gorgos; their tracking makes them a threat. When I have the opportunity to, I simply apply my shield bash to a hoard of them. If anything, they'll attack once at most while stunned and be done thereafter (regardless of the tier, I've found). Otherwise I use my Iron Slug to keep them at bay.
  • Against Gremlins in the Deconstruction Zone; all that moving they do can get me killed alone. When I come to this floor in particular, I mainly use blast bombs when I am in my own space. At first the pursuit and the knockback from my bomb are always key issues. After a while, I see loot on my rounds from places where my bomb has visited and Gremlins near death begin to scatter. As silly as it may be, I chase them with that blast bomb, sometimes to nearly no avail. Dashing does not help much either when they run out of range of my Nitronome or Irontech Destroyer. So to ensure that I keep them from running much farther ahead of me, once I do catch them, I bash of course. Then the bomb finishes the job. After a round or two.
  • Against Mecha Knights on the last stage of the last room in any Battle Arena; sometimes you gotta put your best foot forward, whichever foot that was. When I have allies being followed, I bash. If I do this correctly (timing and direction), it gives allies a moment to recuperate. Of course I escape with a dash afterward. That is about all there is to that as nothing else is as deserving of my shield as they are.
  • Against a Dust Zombie's breath attack; it's all in good fun unless someone dies, again. When I can, I purposely charge into a dust zombie's breath attack, regardless of the fact that I am stunned in the process. They still fall anyways.
  • And finally, Against those short on life. Delivering the finishing blow with that bash can be fun as well. Well, for me at least.
  • Now what's next, I wonder.

So you're just bragging about your shield-bashing skills?

That Mountain Dew commercial... Pheheh... I can't stop laughing. This is the only thing I can think about when I bash enemies now.
I wonder what the most damaging shield is? (To the wiki!)

    Mountain Dew < Old Spice

    DOUBLE SUN POWERRRRRRRRR!

By the way, I really hope you're talking about the tortodrone shields. They make the normal shield bash look useless.

I have a five star Tordodrone shield. But I am talking about normal shields. And while I am aware that Double Sun Power > Mountain Dew, that has nothing to do with colliding with enemies to emerge the victor after the clash in my mind. So Terry Crews does not apply here for me.

Normal shields have a weak, almost useless shield bash. It only hits in one direction, and it only hits once. All shield bashes can only be used at full shield strength, which makes them nearly useless when surrounded, which is when you'd most want to use it. At least the torto shields hit 360 degrees on the second hit.

For some reason, while greater equipment if not the means of how one can obtain them are at my disposal, I cannot bring myself to use them regularly. I only concede to such a notion when the majority vote determines the progress of my tasks at the time. So for now I withdraw to the use of my Proto Shield because shield bumping would make the task of surviving a flurry of enemies too flipping easy. I may still shield bash, however. And I do have a purpose behind its use.

    what
For example, when my party makes a good argument for me to change equipment, like bringing a blitz to the citadel then I change. Otherwise, swift kills bore me if they are not needed. And on that note I can do without that tordodrone bash.

    What.
I got the idea of using a worst shield for bashing and cancels from this argument. But I just did not care to explain why. That would stray to another topic entirely.

Anyways, back to seeing what else I can crash my shield into without dying. When I can find the time. >_>

Every shield (except tortodrone shields) should bash and cancel identically...

As for swift kills, I'd rather not drag the game out. I have more fun speedrunning (without skipping anything)
