Being the gunslinger I am, I'll have to say the nova driver will be your best bet for everything. It will get you deeper for the long run of FSC and it's decent compared to it's brother the umbra driver for Royal jelly palace. But since you said one it has to be nova for the pure damage it gives.

Other guns should eventually come to you as well later on, as having just one limits many combos. Hope my little tidbit of information helped, cheers.

I have a detailed sword guide written for people in your situation. You already know the key lesson of mixing damage types. But it also gives specific advice on Final Flourish vs. Barbarous Thorn Blade, Acheron vs. Obsidian Edge, which guns to get as a sidearm, etc.

Which two damage types you bring depends on what the level is. For example, undead-themed levels often have fiends and rarely have gremlins or slimes. So bring elemental for the undead and piercing as your backup damage type. Ideally, you would have all three damage types, and bring the two that are most appropriate to the level.

Is your actual loadout going to be two swords and one gun? Then you should strongly consider elemental gun, piercing sword, shadow sword, for the reasons outlined in "Mixing Weapon Types" in my guide. And in elemental guns I recommend Nova, Storm, or maybe Magma.

I misread your name as Boop for a second. Also, I think Acheron would do better than The Edge, because of the buff it received. But keep in mind The Edge can poison enemies, making silkwings hurt enemies when healing and causing weapons to do more overall damage.

Obsidian Edge vs Acheron

I think that having poison would make it a lot better for taking down big enemies. Think about it- more damage over time, less damage immediately. If you're using it on minis, they'd die anyway. If you're using it on the ice queen, it might be worth it in the long run.
