Don't put crappy levels at the end of gates

The adventure is coming to a close... and the dramatic end level is..................

Compounds. Or deconstruction zone.

SK needs miniboss levels to end every stratum. Or arenas. Or something that isn't a transition level with no payout.

you know what its worse? that depth 28 it just a short clockwork level without even a danger room or those "party buttons". i hate when i get those "short depth 28" clockworks when im expecting at least 1 danger room there.

It could be anything from Arkus, to a crack squad of elite Gremlins with differing weapon specialties, some traitorous Knights who want the power of the Core all to themselves, a pack of Vog Cubs, a Tortodrone, a zillion mook melee, even something simple like a room full of good ol' Battlepods. With a butt ton of boxes at the end of course.

Not to mention such a thing would make people go to the Arcade more often just to pick fights and waste sparks on those guys. >:D

I actually feel compounds do provide the right level of difficulty/feel of triumph after you make it through to the final area, they only currently lack a decent reward for making it through, 40 some cr just isn't enough. If the final reward was buffed as many others before me have suggested, these depths would work fine at d28. But, as they currently are, they do ultimately end up feeling quite anticlimactic.

But yes, overall the 3 non-FSC gates could use a little work at d28 to offer players a more satisfying end to their run. Even some of non-transitional levels, like a set of 3 Dark City levels, fail to create the right effect as well. Would be nice if the Arcade Redux addressed this issue.

There is also the question why the clockwork level on 28 is always incredible short. I sometimes end with 5 boxes there.(NO DR too)
In early depth sometimes it goes forever with long parts, danger rooms, chest way to chest way.

About Compound...worst payout ever, and they even designed it to be an all-around dungeon, so they can put it everwhere. I don't mind nasty/stupid or even hard depth's, but 2 boxes in compund...
