Hello, I was wondering if enemies with elemental weaknesses have specific elements their weak to or just elemental is general. I checked wiki and it only states elemental and not any specific type so I am assuming that I can just choose the status effect I enjoy most. But I figured I'd ask just in case.

Also even if they do have an elemental weakness, but also has an elemental trait such as a Frozen Shambler (Ice Zombie) would an ice based weapon do less damage? Or simply not be able to freeze said monster?

Thank you for your time.

Elemental in general

Elemental weakness is elemental in general, from my experience. An ice zombie won't take less damage from an ice weapon, but IS immune to the freeze effect of said weapon.

I have had friends comment that fire seems to do more against Lumbers, but that's the "ticks" of damage, and is hard to relate since each honestly depends more on the type of monster being affected than anything else.

Hi, please take a look at this wiki page for more information about status effects.

You'll have to click the link to each specific status to find out which enemies are immune/are healed by/are weak to it, sorry.

There are 4 types of

There are 4 types of damage..

Normal (Red)
Elemental (Green)
Shadow (Purple)
Piercing (Yellow)

You se the color and name of the type of damage you deal when examining your weapons.
When enemies attack, an aura apears by there feet with the damage type that attack deals.

The status effects are NOT to be confuused with theese damage types.
Some status effects deal damage of the above types, but they are mostly just effects that alter the pase of combat.

Fire for instance deal elemental damage over time.
While Curse deal shadow damage when the cursed player/mob attacks.
