Recently, I realized it is super easy to convert like 10 bucks to crystal energy and never have to worry about crowns again or buying materials for that matter. Does anyone else think about this? Do you guys all buy crystal energy and get your top choice items right away or what? On what terms do you use crystal energy I guess is what I'm wondering.

I use it all the time because I'm impatient and I want new stuff. I use it to buy Orbs, on Energy gates such as those to Danger Rooms, and once every blue moon I bribe Krogmo with it.

It's a bit of an over

It's a bit of an over exaggeration to say you'll never have to worry about crowns again. Buying energy is something that you do after you have a good handle on the game and have a decent set of equipment. Like a nutritional supplement or something.

I'm worried I might lose the motivation to play missions or get excited about crown rewards when I can just pay my way to win. Does this make sense? I want to enjoy the game in my own way but I feel like you get too many crowns for the energy.

Am I still F2P if I use in game currency to trade for other in game currency just to trade for other-game currency that can be sold for virtual currency (steam wallet) simply to support the game by buying more energy (at a small net loss for me).

as your youth fades and you start to become an old grumpy dude who spends his days sleeping while simultaneously unconsciously showing off the accessories on his armor that he holds dear like the length of his divine avenger in haven 1, you're going to want to buy energy to get all the things i will never be able to get because i have no money and i eat crumbs and toenail clippings from 2001

If you're worried about it,

If you're worried about it, just finish as many rank missions as you can at your own pace, then when you feel comfortable, you can put in the smallest purchase of energy just to see how it's like.

Ew, no

I'll blow it all on accessories during flash sales, or on orbs of alchemy. I'll never really use energy for crowns, or for getting quick gear. I could but I like making my own stuff.

I'll splurge a bit when they have promotions of some kind, since it's the best time to buy energy. The energy gets used on various things, like trades, crown conversions, purchasing orbs and radiants and catalysts. It's better to use energy to help you make equipment over buying the last 5 star stage of equipment since you could get a shot at a "free" UV (free in the sense you don't buy it from Punch).

I know I'll just end up using it all on a Twilight Aura. So I control myself.

You should mail it to your alt as a sort of security system to not tempt yourself into mass spending. Then you also can say you have almost nothing when people beg. Win win!
