After playing Spiral Knights for quite some time now, i have concluded that the amount of cake slices to buy the Event themed items seems to have risen considerably. Like the Prismatic Cake helm. Instead of the usual 100 cake slices, OOO seems to have added 50 more slices needed to purchace it. Any explanations?

Well, duh!

Because of the second prestige mission. You get 11 tokens from that on average, so that'd explain the price flux.

It's because of free elevators. You can just grind clockworks some more without using energy for the ones you need.

So...

So what was the first cake helm cost? I wasn't there at that time, sadly.

I can

I can confirm that the second cake event was more expensive than the first to get the helm, but I don't remember exactly how much and now I don't know if this year is further increased or not.

Appreciation

I had considered the options on why the prices rose. However I have enjoyed all your input. Please continue to post what you (The SK Community) have to say on the matter.

Free elevators and

Free elevators and effectively a guaranteed 15 cake tokens a day are the main reasons. The increase in price is reasonable if you take that into account. Without hitting any of the cake rooms you can get the prismatic helm in 10 days just by doing the missions.

Considering

Well considering i currently have over 100 tokens just from 2 days of playing in the anniversary update i can see why you guys think that.
