Give the Cobalt and Defender Line decreased crafting cost of sorts

Many people have asked for a buff to these set pieces and aside from people who want it for their apparel or collection, these sets usually collect dust. The Azure Guardian Set is outclassed by various things, Wolver, Jelly, you name it where-as the Aegis is easily outclassed by other shields such as the Barbarous Thorn Shield, Ironmight Plate Shield, and the Royal Jelly Shield.

Rather than giving these small buffs I believe that the Cobalt Set along with the Defender line were always meant to be the "cheap alternative to better armor." In other words it's the "Easiest to get but is a horrible choice in the end" or "Run of the mill."

Basically, my suggestion on this part is to cut down either the Crafting Price or the Orb requirement cost. Already the recipes are handed to players easily and they were always the niche of easy-to-obtain equipment it may help push players a bit more or even a slight more incentive to get this armor just for the fact that it is indeed easier to obtain but much harder to deal with later game.

One of the best suggestions so far as the Cobalt set is meant to be a Starter set. Easy to get and has basic stats but horrible at the end game.

I'm going to say -1 simply because this would only provoke people into making Azure Guardian more than it already does, and as Icycarrot just said, it's horrible for end-game. Provoking people to get it would just be even worse.

That is to say, unless the crafting cost was severely lowered, to the point where making it does not limit you in any way. +1 if so.

-1, because to justify that drop in price, the Cobalt line would have to be nerfed to the point of being utterly useless. I think a better solution would be to remove the gear-gating on missions, and instead let you advance to the next mission when you beat the previous one with people of only your rank and lower. That way, if you can't handle a hard mission, you can get better gear, but if you can handle the earlier T3 missions with 3* gear there's no reason to say you can't do them.

I would want to say yes because the Azure Gaurdian set looks cool, but I really don't want more newer players plan on getting Azure Gaurdian. I remember doing JK runs and FSC with cobalt noobs who did not know how to play very well compared to other people in the same tier with different gear. Sorry but the cobalt armour series sucks, at least go for the weapons.

While it is harsh the call these people noobs, I feel that players "rush" the game a bit too much when they only use the recipes provided by missions and not learn vital skills. But, there are plenty of wolver knights who haven't learned any skills but I think cobalt noobs are higher in number.

I still think the best change for Cobalt would be to give it half-strength in each damage type, instead of full-strength in just Piercing. That way it actually lives up to its jack-of-all-trades, master-of-none portrayal in the descriptive text, and it makes sense why it would be the default option.

I don't think there is a need

I don't think there is a need to reduce that as it already gives you the recipes which saves alot of crowns.

5x1000=5,000 crowns saved at 2*
5x4000=20,000 crowns saved at 3*
5x10000=50,000 crowns saved at 4*
5x25000=125,000 crowns saved at 5*
Total is=200,000 crowns

Also, making these armors cheaper to acquire will result in unskilled players to become distinguishable from the rest at first sight.

Well, there goes the answer to your problem.
