Mineral Spawn variety

[rant on]
Ever since I did the mission to get a sprite, the mineral spawns in the missions spawn everything *but* the mineral needed to feed the sprite. I'm not talking one of two times, but out of 20 runs I got 5 total units, enough for one mote. Several times the only minerals in the instance were green and blue, totally useless at the moment.
Is this just me? Or is this the normal 'game' of OOO, let the user pick a sprite then modify the spawns to get them to do more missions?

Very frustrating and sure makes a player want to quit the game.
If it were just other spawns of the three useful types I would say make three characters and give each a different sprite then waste 24 crowns mailing minerals to the character that needs it, but green/blue doesn't help anyone.

I doubt that Three Rings has programmed in a feature specifically to annoy you. Probably you've just had some bad luck.
As Dibsville suggested, just get the biggest red, yellow, or purple mineral. Craft food from it, and trade that food for the food you want. You can trade with random knights in Haven, but it's even easier if you're in a guild with people who are doing the same thing to level their sprites.

Additionally, something I learned only in the last few months, is that playing with people is actually GREAT for picking up minerals. You get essentially 4x the number you'd get normally. I played solo for most of my career and ... wow, I sure have a lot more minerals now than I ever used to, lol. (4x the extra mats to craft into other food, sell, trade, etc.)
I feel you though, it gets frustrating sometimes looking for specifics.

I am not completely sure about this, but some coulors seems to be dropping more often in certain themes. Let's say Purple with Devilities or in these spookats levels (forgot name).
I noticed this after I was having a group in an arcarde run and all crystals have been red. That depth was a wheel-symbol level with constructs inside. Can't remember the element though.
And for green and blue I need to say that I am actually prefer one of these over any other coulors for the moment they become more important again (actually only used in prestige missions) and for having a larger crystal pool without the need to farm 2k of these first.

It actually is a feature if I recall.
Basically how it works is that originally during Gate Construction, each Strata required two specific types of Minerals to create that gate. These two minerals are less prominent in that strata while the ones not used are.
Minerals marked in bold are more prominently found in that strata:
Beast:
- Crimsonite
- Moonstone
- Valestone
- Luminite
- Dark Matter
Construct:
- Crimsonite
- Moonstone
- Valestone
- Luminite
- Dark Matter
Fiend:
- Crimsonite
- Moonstone
- Valestone
- Luminite
- Dark Matter
Fire:
- Crimsonite
- Moonstone
- Valestone
- Luminite
- Dark Matter
Freeze:
- Crimsonite
- Moonstone
- Valestone
- Luminite
- Dark Matter
Gremlin:
- Crimsonite
- Moonstone
- Valestone
- Luminite
- Dark Matter
Poison:
- Crimsonite
- Moonstone
- Valestone
- Luminite
- Dark Matter
Shock:
- Crimsonite
- Moonstone
- Valestone
- Luminite
- Dark Matter
Slime:
- Crimsonite
- Moonstone
- Valestone
- Luminite
- Dark Matter
Undead:
- Crimsonite
- Moonstone
- Valestone
- Luminite
- Dark Matter
I can see where you're coming from, and I have a solution for this--
If you don't find the primary mineral you want, then get the biggest mineral of the other colors besides green and blue. You can then make the sprite food with that mineral, and trade it with the food you need of equal value.
As an example, say your sprite needs some divine dust, but you only have crimsonite on hand. You can make power dust with the crimsonite, then trade it for divine dust.
In essence, it's better to get the biggest mineral from red, purple, and yellow, and then just trade the food for the food you need, rather than just getting the primary color you need.
