I need to know whether or not to craft Voltedge. I've already crafted the shockburst should I continue or ditch is and Use my Glacius
I need advice
I've personally never enjoyed using Voltedge. Glacius is more fun because it's more balanced and harder to use with the freeze and all while Combuster wins in terms of just winning as fast as possible.
Try getting a boltbrand to level 10. I've got one and I enjoy it quite a bit.
It's a different kind of crowd control to the Glacius. While the glacius freezes things in place until they're hit or thawed, Voltedge holds them still for a moment every so often. I personally prefer it to freeze, as it can save your life (zombies jumps just get halted if the shock ticks while they're 'warming up') but doesn't leave you unable to kite and shieldbump.
It's also insanely fun unleashing a charge on a vortex for masses of additional damage on top of the other brandishes. My pc is pretty high spec, and yet I still get ever so slight frame drops when I throw a charge at a group. It's like you can feel the power.

Voltedge is really a completionist item. It is an in between of combuster and glacius, it can slow down a mob and deal some damage in the same time, but voltedge can't do well in either of those aspects. If you really want a new elemental weapon, try the avenger.
I compare these swords here. I agree with the posts above, that you should try a variety of play styles. You already have one Brandish. So try all of the other sword styles (e.g. Troika, Flourish, Sealed, WRH), and then get the other Brandishes if you still care to. Voltedge should be a low priority.
I kinda want a voltedge for my FSC runs I have the vortex recipe line up to 4* Also I have a BTB, polaris and a Blitz needle I used to have a sealed sword but it doesn work for me
I have had success with the Divine avenger when I use it as a defensive sword. It's charge and regular attack do nice knockback and spread damage. Brandish lines are meant to be used more aggressively so in order to get the most out of the DA you may need to change your mentality when it comes to how you use certain swords.
If you want a Brandish for FSC, then consider just getting Combuster instead. No, the fire doesn't affect most of the monsters. That doesn't matter. The charge attack does massive damage, often one-shot-killing things (depending on party size, damage bonus, etc.).
Some people argue that Voltedge out-damages Combuster when used with a vortex bomb. I haven't done detailed tests of that. But unless you plan to run with a vortex bomber a lot of the time, Combuster is a safe, super-powerful choice. Yes, even for FSC.
To learn more, search Google for something like "combuster voltedge site:forums.spiralknights.com". You will see many, many threads.
I have not tested either but I believe it should be safer with Combuster when using at least Electron Vortex. Why? When using EV, you want the enemies to be shocked so they aren't knocked back when the vortex explodes. The spasms always happen the moment an enemy is shocked and the spasm will affect nearby enemies as well. Therefore, it's rather safe to bet that there will be at least one enemy causing itself and others to stay when you use EV on a crowd. If you'd already used Voltedge to inflict shock on them all, that's no longer a guarantee.
I think voltedge is worth crafting.
I mean, if you already have a glacius and are lacking all the other lines, then no, don't craft it. Just put it in the back of your inventory and wait until you have all the other 5* lines and have had fun with those.
But really just do whatever you want. The point of the game is to explore the gear and have a good time playing around with it and other people on runs, and how you do that is up to you. So if you want a voltedge then craft a voltedge. If you'd rather have something else, craft that instead. Will voltedge help you a ton? Not really. Will it provide entertainment despite the glacius that you already own? Yes. Is it worth it? I think so.
