Reefreezing YOURSELF with a bomb? no. you cannot apply status to yourself.

If you are frozen, then charge + place a bomb, it will not free you.

If you place a bomb, then are frozen inside the blast radius AFTER you placed the bomb, the explosion will free you.

I think. I'll go test it.

You can free some other people by placing bombs.

But if I understood your suggestion correctly, you want bombs with a self-status-inflicting chance like Faust or Fang of Vog.

I would say that it sounds nice to have a fire STRONG mist bomb with the downside of self-burning.

Or to create a kinda new thing: A Blast Bomb with a chance of a status (like fire cracker, just with higher star level and selfe-burning at a certain chance).

If it is really the question you wanted to know what Soulstaker said, then you don't need to fear any drawback by using a bomb: Outside of a PvP arena it is impossible to inflict damage or status directly to an ally or yourselfe with any weapon, unless it is clearly highlighted as debuff with red writing where usually your buffs are listed.

But something you may consider while playing with status bombs:
There are certain enemies that gain strength by a certain status. If you infclict fire to an oil-jelly then he heals himselfe and sets spitted oil on the ground on fire. This burning oil can burn you, but not your flame/ice/shock/whatever bomb.
