I don't mind "behind the scenes changes" patches assuming they're about unreleased content. I DO mind the patches that adjust balance or drop rates, but don't say anything other than the numbers changed. I would like some details on things that affect me, please.

...and we ask for more and more and can only get so little in return. I agree with you. We love the game, but we want so much more; they're trying to please us, but they can't (not yet). All we can rely on is time, some people's happiness and other's deathbeds.
Anticipation is good thing in my opinion. If we always know what's ahead, then we won't be as hyped up when we actually know about it.

As a business, people are going to want to know what's up if they go to pay for a service and find out they're unable to do so. The announcements aren't tailor-made to you, and as I am planning on spending some money for energy soon, I'm glad to know that I won't be able to do so tonight, as I've avoided some frustrations now.
Additionally, you're picking and choosing announcements. Why not pick something a bit more recent? The announcement you chose for "talking about Spiral Knights" is months old already. But I suppose the most recent updates won't help the point you're trying to make.. :(
