Armor and weaponry have
Armor and weaponry have various strengths and weaknesses, allowing you to choose pieces that best fit your playing style and the types of levels on which you will be fighting. They also start out as level 1 and gradually level up to a 10 as you gain heat by playing with those particular pieces worn/selected. If you purchase the item, it is equipped with standard features, but if you purchase the recipe and use materials you have collected to craft the same item with alchemy, you have a chance of creating an item with unique variations like reduced charging time or extra fire protection.
In addition to the armor you have equipped for battle, you can select other pieces of armor to display as a costume. The effects of a costume on gameplay are purely cosmetic. This feature is available because some people like the usefulness of one item, but the appearance of another.
