I am gonna sell my Valiance to those bazaar guys and get myself a Blitz Needle!
I can either go though its crafting path or buy it from the supply depot.
But........which one is cheaper?
The supply depot sells it for 3500 Crystal Energy( WoooooooooW.....)
The crafting path needs a lotta crystals and orbs.
So, plz help me decide.

P.S.The energy to crowns exchange rate is about 6200 crowns for 100 energy.(Me thinks)

Definitely craft items yourself, if your goal is to save money. Only buy from the Supply Depot if you're in some insane rush to get the item, or you don't actually enjoy playing Spiral Knights.
I'll add that you should not sell your Valiance. It's a boring but solid weapon. You may find it useful someday. Just keep all of your 5-star items, while you collect new ones.
Yes, crafting is significantly cheaper as said above. Never buy weapons or armor from the supply depot-- to this date I don't know of a time where it wasn't an extremely huge waste to buy weapons/armor from the supply depot.
And as Bopp said, don't sell your Valiance. It's by far one of the most solid and all-around guns in the game. You never really know when you'll want to use it, and it can work in almost any situation you can think of.
Selling a 5* weapon such as a valiance that you put your blood, sweat and tears into is not worth 30k. If you want to sell a 5* item, sell a token item (almirian seals for ancient plate armor for 30k). Valiance was my first 5* gun and I still have it ever since. IMO, I don't think it's a good idea to sell your personally made 5* items. (This is just my opinion, don't go bashing on me if you don't think this way). Plus, everybody else is right. Never, EVER buy from the supply depot (at least the gear stuffs). Crafting is a lot cheaper, you get UV chances, and a sense of accomplishment.
Crafting it yourself is way cheaper.
Even if you buy all the orbs involved, that's 50+200+400+800 = 1450 energy.
Then all recipes assuming you don't have them already is 1000+4000+10000+25000 = 40000 crowns, about 645 energy based on your exchange rate
All you need are the materials (probably have them already) and heat/crystals, but at least that gives you an excuse to play.
Also you get a chance of UVs if you craft.
