The new change where we now receive a mail if we're off-line when a transaction happens: http://forums.spiralknights.com/en/node/99611
Well I thought it was a good and nice add-on for those like me when we come back online after a while going, "wait did that add up right, I can't remember >.>" So I was thinking it was nice to have them mail you what happened with your market trading while you were away. However It's not what I was hoping for at all. It sends you a mail for every 100ce you either trade back or for. I hate it. For major traders of the market, your gonna log-off for the night, come back on and have 50+ mails saying 100ce was trade for, 100ce was trade for, 100ce was traded for... etc... stupid and pointless.
My proposition is that if you have a bunch of trades in the market over the same price just sent one mail for all that was traded over that price, if there were different prices then send as many mails as were different prices. But not over each transaction.
So if I had put up to trade for 100ce at 6233cr, five times and then put up to trade 6232cr 2 more times... I'd receive two mails over all for the two different prices (that is if both were completed of course while I was logged off). Right now I would have received 7 mails for that and it's just going to spam everyone's mail folder like that. Open mail, accept, open mail, accept, open mail accept, open mail, accept, open mail, accept... that's what I had to do this morning... really not liking this.
Personally I think the CE market should send all proceeds from trades into a personal cache for each offline player and then when the player logs on, it triggers the system to send them the entire contents of the cache all lumped together. Obviously, if the cache is empty, no mail should be sent. While for those buying CE it would then be quite apparent the number of trades that went through, for convenience of those selling CE, maybe the system should also notify them in the mail how many trades in total were made as well, if others deemed that important. Overall though, +1.
