Omega shell
Omega shell is the best general shield. Currently have the stone tortoise (4 star variation) and it rarely lets me down.

The enemies will have little health when soloing so there is no need for the buffs/debuffs on the sprites.
Therefore I'd go with Seraphynx for walking over spikes (since you don't have to wait for others to cross too)
or Maskeraith if you feel like cloaking past everything and not fighting.
All three battle sprites are good. All three help you while soloing. I don't have a strong opinion one way or the other. Sorry I can't be more opinionated. :)
