When you start out you complete a few missions and get a Fencing jacket and a Cyclops cap.
A lot of the low star swords often are similar to brandishes and many low star guns similar to blasters.
However, all the bombs you get that are lower than 2 star are blast bomb related, not to mention there are no armors encouraging bomb usage.
I would like to see some low star bombs such as a 4 piece shard bomb perhaps with elemental and poison, a small haze bomb with freeze status, and an armor that gives a low ctr and bomb damage boost.
I brought up this topic too, but in a different manner. since they give you 2 bombs and more than 10 between guns and swords at the beginning, it seems logical that you don't have to get bomber equipment since, well, you're not going to use those bombs with their range and attack power vs the ones of swords and guns. bomber newbies need some love, I said, and I say it again.
