Deconstructor Bomb: Any Good?

I really don't like dealing with many of the monsters in the Construct family, so I have been looking at the Deconstructor and Heavy Deconstructor bombs. The Wiki states that they have high damage against Constructs.

Anyone here have much experience with them? Are they any good?

Maybe after it is rebalanced.

Maybe after it is rebalanced. Right now, I'd suggest skipping it for a Nitronome. Unfortunately the Deconstructor line ends at 4*, and bombs tend to show their true power only at 5*.

Another Question

Thanks for the reply.

One other quick question -- What kind of explosion do the deconstructors make?

I know that some people complain about the "blue screen of death" that occurs when a bomb blast obscures large portions of the playing field. Do the deconstructors explosion cause similar complaints?

Yeah, the same, but it is red

Yeah, the same, but it is red instead of blue for deconstructors.

What if they rebalanced

What if they rebalanced deconstructor to do split ele/normal damage on the 5*? ^^

That would be sick. We are

That would be sick. We are rather lacking in an elemental bomb at the moment. (Haze hardly counts.) For that matter a decent shadow bomb.

I kinda expect that there will be elemental and shadow bombs available via tokens at some point, much like DA/GF and AP/Sentenza.

Love my Heavy Deconstructor

I ended up getting the Deconstructor and immediately upgraded it to Heavy Deconstructor. I love it! It's probably my favorite bomb -- but it doesn't do as much damage to Constructs as I would like.

Now I am interested in using UVs to make an even better Heavy Deconstructor. As expert bombers, which do you think would be better to get on a Heavy Deconstructor: UV CTR Max or UV vs Constructs Max?

UVs only go up to Very High

UVs only go up to Very High for weapons. If you managed to craft a Blast Bomb CTR Very High, that would sell for a ton of CE on the market, since even CTR Medium is rare and sought after.

What demo gear are you wearing? That will determine if you even need UV CTR. Also, you only need UV Construct High in order to reach a total of Max since they stack on the bomb. (Also... if you get a UV Construct High, you'll likely do more damage to constructs with a Nitronome with that UV than with it on a Heavy Deconstructor. At least until a 5* is available...)

Clockwork Bombs are Cool

Currently I wear a Volcanic Demo Helm. Will probably be getting a Demo Suit shortly. That should automatically give CTR Ultra to all level 10 bombs. (Toying with the idea of Mad Bomber Suit for CTR Max + Med Damage bonus, but am not sure if the effect penalties are worth it.)

Since the suit grants that much CTR, I think I should go for the damage bonus UV over the CTR UV.

Now, if I read the wiki right, weapon damage and family damage are the same. So if I were to find a Blast Bomb with Bomb Damage High, wouldn't that esentially get me a Heavy Deonstructor with Max damage bonus to Constructs plus Med damage to everything else? (Construct Damge High + Bomb Damage High = Construct Damage Max?)

As for the Nitronome, it might give me more damage, but I am partial to the look of the Deconstructor. It's a clockwork bomb. Clockwork bombs are cool!

no 4* bombs

I won't even use a bomb until it's levelled to 5 stars. A 5 star bomb has 4x the area of a 4* bomb.

Skip the deco and get the nitro.

Need More Data

Well, if the pictures on the Wiki are correct, my 4* Heavy Deconstructor has a bigger blast radius then the 5* Irontech Destroyer and Big Angry Bomb. The radius is smaller than the 5* Nitronome though.

But blast radius and power aren't the only things to consider when rating a bomb -- Charge time, fuse length and knock back are all important factors to consider. How does the charge time on the Heavy Deconstructor and Nitronome compare? What about the fuse length?
