Daily Awards

When mist energy used to be a part of the game, it was a kind of motivation to log in and play each day or YOU'D BE WASTING YOUR MIST!

Currently, the game lacks any motivation to log in each day beyond the sheer fun of it.

I suggest that some daily awards be added to the game.

The awards could be tokens like Krogmo Coins or the ones we get as pickups, which we could redeem for something just like in the current system.

These awards would be obtained by completing something in the game each day such as a mission, crafting, or using the forge. You would have to do more than just log in; you'd actually have to play in some way to ge the award tokens. But you could only get one of each type of token each day no matter how many achievements you completed.

This kind of comes across as a scummy way to force people into the game. Mist energy did, that's for sure.

We already have the daily missions, so perhaps we could just add this as a reward for those? That, I would not mind because then at least it's something for me to do and earn every day.

These sort of exist already

The daily prestige missions rotate so that we want to hop on and get some clockworks action quick and in a semi-unique format. Our battle sprites also serve as a motivator, as if we don't log in fairly frequently they get hungry fast and that's wasted heat.

This isn't to say this is the same motivation as mist energy is. If anything, I would like to have there be daily challenges put in place (ex. Collect 50k crowns, obtain 25 forge sparks, acquire 10 captures as a recon in lockdown, etc.) with small rewards, such as rarities of your rank or low star gear and recipes.

I kind of like having the freedom to do whatever.

I'll have to say -1. If the rewards are unbound, alt farming. If the rewards are bound, they'll probably be rarities, and getting a star orb every day is excessive.

@ Fehzor - I don't know why you would say it's a "scummy" way to motivate people to play each day. After all, it would be an additional reward for doing things perhaps more frequently than we do.

Daily missions are a nice challenge, but the prestige point system is a motivator only to 45,000. So far, anything beyond that is useless, and there's been no hint that that will ever change.

@ Fangel - Sprite heat is a brief motivator until your sprite is fully heated, which seems like ages ago now for many of us. But, yes, some kind of daily challenge might also work if they are reasonable and could be done in less than an hour.

Of course, you'd still have the freedom to do whatever and ignore the extra rewards.

And the rewards would have to be big enough to be motivating without being so large that they become unfair.

We used to use alts to use mist, so I don't see any problem with using alts to gain rewards, especially if those awards are bound.

We used to use alts with mist, and OOO removed that. Why would they implement this ability to use alts once more?

Also, which rewards would you be thinking of?

Exactly, if the rewards are bound, then it's a plus.
I'd say a good way to make this happen is like the prize wheel at the end of missions, or some some amount of CR or random mat. (Also goes for rarities)

Why add another system if the first one isnt done yet? and you know what i mean: The Prestige System. yeah its abandoned but that isnt a reason to keep it away from being worked.

When they implemented the prestige system they said you would get nice rewards according to your prestige, and this point the prestige only works for: HUUUR DUUUR I HAVE MY PONY BADGE.... HUUURR DUUUR I HAVE MORE POINTS THAN YOU". so its pretty useless and once you hit 45k you are done with that.

i would prefer that OOO should work on the prestige system so in that way you get a plus because you optionally are playing prestige to get those points and then get your reward. So you arent forced to get those points unless you want those prestige rewards, rather than "oh im only in ready room and i getting rewards yaay!" or "ohh yah RNG its on my side prize wheel give me a reward!!! (lets be honest... if they add that on prize wheel would have a 0.01% to get it like you know.. a book of dark rituals?)"

and why i prefer being the prestige system rather than a prize wheel or something randomly? because dont relies on RNG, because on that way WILL RELIES ON YOUR SKILL. even on normal advanced or elite skill will require a minimal effort from the player what its called " lets Play the game" so in that way the reward its for the player that choose to play prestige to get the points because the rewards, because they are optional, and not something that could happen because you got "lucky".

Lets stop for a bit the RNG system and implement something that ACTUALLY requires a bit of skill from the player.

Why not just put tokens on prestige missions' rewards?
5 Primal Spark on Beast/Slime themed missions
5 Forge Spark on Construct/Gremlin themed missions
5 Grim Spark on Undead/Fiend themed missions

It isn't something great, but you can stack them to buy trinkets.

That still takes awhile though.
100 token-sparks per 10k for profit. 100/5 = 20 days. That's almost a month. :/

I'd say something more along the lines of another prize wheel that has various rarities, CR amounts, CE, and materials as prizes.

Some Facebook games have

Some Facebook games have something like that, your chances of a better reward go up the more consecutive days you log in, capping at either 7 or 30, depending, and I always thought it was a neat system. Even on simple FB games they weren't gamebreaking perks and if you ended up resetting your timer, it wasn't the worst thing ever and you didn't end up crippled.

I admit when I first read the title I was apprehensive, but it seems like a neat little system. Incentive to keep people returning. It's not like other games don't already do this with tons of dailies for all sorts of perks, and as it is now, our dailies system only gives a number/eventually pony badge, so it could be adjusted a bit more.

I'm cool with rarities or something, maybe a few bonus radiants or something for vanguards who've logged in every day for a week, etc. Nothing fancy, just a reason to check back in every day.

Would this be solved if they just made Prestige do something interesting? That would make people want to log on and do dailies.
