I beat the bond mission and choose my sprite. But when I go to my character profile it is not there. Nor can I redo the mission again. So essentially I have no sprite and cannot acquire a new one without buying it for what ever the price it is going for.

The only thing I can think of is - my friend didn't beat the earlier missions so I went to do it with him. When the battle sprite "switched" with the one from the mission. I ended up getting disconnected. After that I lost my sprite (which was there in the beginning of the mission)
