Greetings. I am Captain Ishmael, and I will be your commanding officer. As you all know, Captain Ozlo was found dead in his bunk at 0830 this morning. Shortly after the funeral, our counter-intelligence agents caught the spy responsible for the act, and after an hour of interrogations, we learned that she was an agent of an organization that calls itself the Spiral Council, and that she is one of many. You have been called by the Spiral Order to put a stop to this organization and its nefarious plans. Their MO is best summed up as ninja terrorism; they slit throats, plant bombs and traps, and shut down vital services. They have a penchant for recruiting new members in the most inconvenient of places, so watch your back, even around people you think you can trust.

We are counting on you to succeed. Failure is not an option. Good luck, soldier.

Welcome to the forum roleplaying game Immortal. Designed to fulfill your requests, I sincerely hope it will be to your liking. The plot will seem deceptively simple at first, so if you came here wanting to play a deep, thoughtful game, be patient, because that's precisely what this is. Details & inconsistencies will be placed intentionally, so if during the course of the game you spot something that looks off, chances are you're probably onto something. Lies, improbabilities, inconsistencies, and the like are the bread & butter plot drivers of the story; keep your eyes peeled for them. Bad things happen to those who don't notice these things, and you'll reap cool rewards if you do!

The threshold for player death is also lower here, so if you're counting on being able to survive any accident that befalls you, don't. Use your wits to stay alive. You can't count on your mad battle skillz and super epic awesome gear to get you through the game, because at the end of the day, the other characters can and will out-fox you. Consider yourself warned.

Player characters do not have access to magic powers. That means no telepathy, no telekinesis, no super-stealth, no super-durability, none of that stuff (unless you have the corresponding accessory or Battle Sprite). Some NPCs will have such powers, but you will not, as it unbalances several important aspects of the story. Being special agents of the Spiral Order, if you want a new power, you'll have to ask Spiral HQ for the relevant piece of equipment and return for it.

All players begin as human Knights with sworn allegiance to the Spiral Order. Loyalty to the Spiral Order is mandatory; you are not allowed to be allied to any other faction or be any race other than human Knight. I've noticed over the years that some people like to play as mercenaries or unaffiliated rogues; those kinds of characters are strictly prohibited here.

Gear & Accessories: Twin Super blasters, holstered on either side of a leather belt. Blue overcoat, held loosely for movement. Brown Gunslinger hat, minus the metallic piece on the front.

Tell Us About Yourself: Amy is a spirited girl, nothing gets her down. She doesn't talk a lot, which sometimes gives the impression she is shy. When it comes to figuring out a difficult problem, she won't put two and two together as quick as other people. Given time she will, it just doesn't come as naturally. She does know the ups and downs of Haven, anywhere and everywhere. She knows where things are, but she won't know what time things happen or who is where. Amy is not the most athletic, so she is at a disadvantage when someone tries to make an escape. Although, her knowledge of the area can lend her a hand in getting in front of a runaway. She knows her limits, and won't try to surpass them.

Tell Us About Yourself: Meteko is quite the strange fellow. He normally doesn't take any situation seriously, or rather not show that he does. Oftentimes, he looks around, usually leading to noticing things that are off from the area. He is highly acrobatic, strong, and is skilled with swords of any size or shape. Meteko, at first, comes off as a jokester, almost lazy. Under this, he hides a more serious persona, especially prevalent in the midst of battle.

@Sonosuke: I collected a few possible pictures for you.
Fits the hair description best, IMO.
Seems to fit the character best, if not the appearance.
Eye color and hair shape are perfect, but the hair color is off. Consider him though.

@Colray: You might not want to undersell your character in the clues department. One of my jobs as GM is to help you play your character; if Amy Rickel isn't very perceptive, I'll model it in how I narrate the story for you.

@Liminori: Not much is said about Lana's background. Mind expanding on that a bit?
P.S. I've watched 16 episodes of "Irregular at Magic High School." The picture you've provided is of Erika Chiba. Cool character, IMO. ^_^

And now I'm torn between drawing Meteko (which I'll have to do eventually, get it out of the way) or using one of the pics you offered. I like the first one, but it seems a bit small.

In regards to said pic, apparently Shadow the Hedgehog as a Human = Anime Vampire. How did I know that was Shadow? The shoes are a dead giveaway. I haven't even played a Sonic game in forever. What am I doing trying to stay up at 1 in the morning?

Sorry, another female...

Name: Violet

Gender, Age & Description: Female, 27. Sporting short, straight, silver hair and piercing golden eyes, Violet already stands out. Her pale skin is usually marred with scratches and the like, signs of her constant hand to hand combat practise. She is not at all buff and shows little muscle tone. Peculiarly, her smile is very sweet, but usually seen at inappropriate times.

Gear & Accessories: Solid Cobalt Armour, the armoured gloves and boots of which have amounted numerous chips and scratches. Possesses a pair of black rimmed goggles, but usually keeps them stored away, or occasionally on her head, but not over her eyes. More of a precaution than a necessity. Carries around a Bolted Blade.

Violet really doesn't give a flying ship (Skylark ref. haha). Her headstrong and cocky attitude was apparent fairly early in life when her parents pushed her to become a doctor, nurse or at least a healer of some sorts.

Always quick to get in a fight, for any reason at all, her adamance and resentment was only overshadowed by her intransigent parents (Violet's mother blamed her husband for their daughter taking after to them, it was a matter of debate for some time). Due to their unyielding nature held against their daughter, Violet was eventually trained and astonishingly showed surprising skill in tending the injured, despite her subjectively cruel remarks made towards their plights.

Violet eventual grew to become quite the hand combat fighter, and with her talent for healing, was enlisted into the Spiral Order; not against her will, however, yet not willingly either.

Note: I feel like expressing a character through the story is far more effective than a biography, so I apologize for the lack of substance.

-Gear: Obsidian Hood/Armor. Silent Night Edge Blade with one Unique Variant (Light weight). Partly Defective Stealth gear (Works on a time limit).
- Accessories: Respirator and pack to keep suit filled with a clean environment and air. Small Communication headset hardwired into the Suits Hood.

-Reserved and quiet Mono is the Soldier whom you don't want on the other end of a computer. He spent most his military career as a Inelegance officer having access to most the network and main frame of the Spiral Order. This gave Mono the time he needed to get everything ready for when he moved from his dinky little desk job to a Field unit. However his wish's where not take as he hoped and he was stuck as nothing more then a Intel Officer for Field units. All his wants, training and will seemed to be sapped from the man as had trained his mind and body to be a field unit, to the point he was putting Field class, Knight Elite's to same with the level of Brutality he would display on fellow Spiral's as well as Training Bots.

-However his Trained body seemed to give way to his minds lack of care to any of his fellow soldiers. To the point he decided to get a new suit and seal it, going into the Main Frame and deleting his personal file till the only thing left was the Picture of his new helm and Respirator with the name Mono writen down. Thanks to his ties with the Intel group he was able to do all this with out getting any heat on him. Shortly after that Mono became more Reluctent and hidden, moving his home to a part of Haven where no one really ever went. Setting up a base where no one ever looked. It was in this spot Mono started doing his work from, taking in missions and directing units back and froth. Still keeping his body in line, but over time because of his dissconnection with his fellow soldiers his tone became Mono-toned. His world turned Black and White.

-Now ready for something to do Mono waits for messages to pop up as he trains his body and mind, having integrated his suit to the point he was in a walking, Armored, Super Computer. "Let the game, commence."

And yet Skotino has short hair by this point in his Corruption since he is losing it. Hay you want to mix DNA in with a Chaos catalist you have the DNA infused with your DNA at a faster the normal rate with the Corruptive power of Dark-Matter sapping your mental straight. Imagine how powerful Skotino would be if his mind wasn't slipping.

[Saboteur left the hospital on an early spring, the area that he was in was demilliterized after the fall of King Vern (winter kingdom RP). He could still remember the horrid engagement with that evil woman months ago, Queen Mezizas. A near immortal evil witch with near unlimited power, but some how, some way, he was able to defeat her. Look up into the sky, Saboteur got a brief moment of rest before he was confronted by a local priest, who was on his morning walk to the hospital tasked to provide patients with 'spiritual assisstance'.]

Priest: *sees Saboteur and bows* "Good morning, my child, have you finally recovered from your injury?"

Saboteur: *can still see the scar on his chest* "For the most part, yeah... thanks father..."

Priest: "Lord had mercy on you, you must have a great destiny ahead of you..."

Saboteur:*smirks* "Destiny or not, please tell the lord that I don't need his mercy."

Priest: *bewildered* "But why?"

Saboteur: *chuckles* "I just want the lord to spare the mercies to someone else, someone who actually need it... people who were born with sickness and no parents... someone who was less lucky than I who have a happy start in life. It has been nice seeing you father, have a nice day..." *walks away*

[Saboteur reclaimed his gears at a nearby supply depot and headed for Haven, but suddenly, a siren sounded from the direction of Haven. Saobteur was alarmed, he knew something was wrong, and that was when his com link buzzed.]

Saboteur: *responds to comlink* "Saboteur, combat demolitionist second class, who am I talking to?"

{Nezula}: "You are talking to Nezula, Spiral Intel agent first class."

Saboteur: "Okay, before we talk, what is with the siren?"

{Nezula}: "Captain Ozlo was assassinated this morning, two hours ago to be frank when we found him dead in his bunk."

Saboteur: *panicked* "What? Is it the work of Vern's remenant forces?"

{Nezula}: "No... it is a group called themselves the spiral council... a new terrorist group threatening to destroy what we worked on so far..."

Saboteur: "And what does all this have to do with me?"

{Nezula}: "We found your DNA at the crime scene..."

Saboteur: "WHAT?! I was in the hospital for the past three months! This can't be!"

If they (the investigators) did find your char's DNA, even Nezula would probably be forced turn him in for retribution without warning. And it's Ozlo who was killed, you know, the dude who was heading the Skylark expedition? Even if he might be a little out of shape to lead, a lot of people would want answers as to why. Unfortunately, they've already caught the culprit, and she doesn't seem to mention your character, so a little change or two would work.

Accepted, but I'm throwing at you extra hard challenges to compensate for the edges you've given your character. That, and I might override your character periodically as part of the growing alter ego he has.

Also, I want you to reiterate what you mean by Black and White. Is it his complexion, hair color, what? O.o

What the fact he has a Black and White system of dealing with things, meaning he has a mental problem which cause's him to do things according to a flaws moral system. Well thanks, and I look forwards to the challenges. Why do I get the feeling your about to break open his sealed suit. The Guy is already got problems, don't mess with the suit :L

Black and White since of moral. It means he see things either one way or another. There is no inbetween, your either wrong or right. You either do something or don't. Its a mental problem some people have which causes them to go beyond the 'normal' limits of what they would think is right for sad situation. So say this,

You start to commit a crime, but at the last minute decide to not do it. To him you might as well have done the crime because he doesn't believe in backing out. You where going to do it, thats intent, your just as guilty for thinking about as if you did it.

This also effects his choices and way of thinking as well.

And as for the retribution part, do keep in mind that Saboteur does have a solid alibi. He has been in hospital for the last three months and was in no condition to murder anyone.

Then how the hell did Saboteur's DNA appear at Ozlo's death scene?!

I will let Thin have the final say on this, saboteur's story line so far is still non canon to the RP. Like the time he switched Ozlo with Serris when I was in skylarkfall, I am sure he will figure something out.

However, if this story line is kept, you will all be prepared for one hell of a cliffhanger, when Saboteur reveal who he really is and what Queen Mezizas really did to his body. (nothing along the line of porn of course -.-)

Considering I know How to make an area, But it takes time, And it doesn't help you have to place square. . . by square. . . By square-
Also, I don't really know too well where all the block textures + etc are, But I'll find them eventually. . . And then have it ingrained in my head.
Speaking of which, I could even map out where the enemies are for you, But that'd require that I didn't. . . join.
However, Knowing where the enemy is is only half the battle, As there are much more. . . Details.

In this case I am well aware of the Nav. files of Spiral Knights Client enough to understand where I need to put said objects. I am use to building maps in Hammer World Editor since I use to make maps for L4D2 and TF2. Helped make one for TF2 that is. Its the same basic priceible just different programs used. Its what I used to make Mono's Picture.

What he did was make Premade structures or in other words every time he loads a world SS has presaved data that will auto-open and create the world based of the premade data. He still had to go in and do the painstaking work of making the world before hand. After that its just as simple as changing a few things in the Prefabs tab.

Good question.

Both ways, Depending on the situation.
Being a dagger means that it is much faster to use than a sword, But the fact remains that there are more opportunities to strike holding the blade forward.
To the side also limits the amount of ways to block or attack, so it's smarter to use edged weapons straight forward.
If I had to choose a direction, Diagonally, Pointed upwards at the enemy(ies?).

Name: Nikolai Rose

Gender: Male

Age: 24

Description: Nikolai has long white, hair, not to the point where he looks like a girl, but he definitely has a full head I hair. His eyes are a creamy brown and he stands at a solid 5 foot 7. Light olive coloured skin.

Gear & Accessories:
When Nikolai needs his armour he wears Blizzbreaker Armoue and a Solid Cobalt helm atop his head. Swift strike buckler and a Grand Flourish are his specialties. He has no accessories, but his Crest of Winter. When he is off duty he wears a black suit with a rose.

Tell Us About Yourself: Nikolai Rose had a fantastic relationship with his mother. And not so much with his father. So when his parents divorced and his father got the house he and his mother lived in for about 5 years, you can imagine the heart break and bitterness towards his father. Before finding a house he lived on the streets with his mother and saw some pretty traumatic things. So, when he grew up he was able to mask his emotions pretty well and became a very charismatic man.

His charisma and winning smile is what gets him out of most situations and from his times on the street he was able to become good at the art of body language. Many men envy his hair and unmatched success with 'scoring' women. Aside from all this he really has no strong points. He has tried being athletic, but he has asthma and those two don't really (no pun intended) work out together. His intelligence only goes as far as his ability to read people and his charisma, he is horrible at math, science, English, and, well, everything else.

Think of Cloud Strife from FFVII (if you have any idea what I'm taking about) in the Advent Children movie (again, if you have the slightest clue of what I'm talking about) except with white hair. I have a fantastic picture for you with only a couple details that are off. The skin colour, however on the character you showed me is great.

As stated in my recent post, I will punish your characters if they assume anything to be anywhere without first looking around. If your character fires bullets "at the enemy" without even having an opponent specified, I will guarantee that he or she will miss. If you hack computers that just aren't there, I will disable your equipment. If you assume that you can set up long combos that are guaranteed to kill an opponent without giving them any chance to block, parry, or otherwise contest your naive assumptions, I will make your characters pay in pints of blood.

Do not assume. If you think an action is significant enough, say "if [action] succeeds, then [follow up action]". Use "would" and "will" to say there's a chance, but it's not guaranteed.

Because in life, nothing is guaranteed.

Side note : I won't try to stop every single action, since you're all trained individuals, but you're not invincible. Push a character too hard, I'll make him or her collapse in fatigue. Push the limits of your equipment, and I'll break it. Be careful, and think before you post.

I think it might be Thin's call, but if you can, would it be possible for you to just throw the outcome of Violet's punch out there, so I don't get so far behind?

I'll take care of the rest, but attempting to punch someone after running towards them and cartwheeling usually does not go 100% as expected.

Violet is wearing Solid Cobalt armour, which is a tier above standard cobalt. Plus, I chose the cobalt set for its armoured gauntlets and boots, so she was not punching the guy bare-fisted. (She's hopefully not THAT stupid :S)
