If you could modify any weapon...

For example, having a Fang of Vog that inflicts shock instead, or a vortex bomb that (somehow) does piercing damage, or a Polaris that burns enemies, etc etc.

If I could modify any weapon, I'd like to have a Catalyzer that freezes enemies and does neutral damage. This is really lethal on a Catalyzer since it's charge doesn't break freeze.

This is a fine discussion to have, but to clarify: Is our goal to make the weapon more powerful, or to make the game more balanced, or what?

Though I say that, I'm fully prepared for everything posted on this thread to completely ruin the game's balance.

Inb4 5* status blast bombs, curse hazes, elemental Retribution, and freeze Blitz.

To make a weapon type reach its full potential.. I think we had this conversation already. Yes, I suggested a stun FoV, as stun changes your attack speed and the charge would always "flash charge" because of it, resulting in a fang of vog whose charge dealt double damage with no real penalty- just stun instead of fire. I think it would still work that way? They might have fixed it.

On a less insanely powerful level, a stun and piercing themed polaris would be immensely powerful for fighting fiends, while a curse and elemental dread venom striker would be one of the strongest possibilities on that front.

I'd change sudaruska so it dealt stun on the second swing.

Or up the chances on the status flourishes.

Or make all split damage weapons deal less damage.

That's.... that's really f*cking dangerous actually. FoV has a 'good' chance of triggering status with every slash. Combine that with the Vog's (relatively) fast attack speed, the FoV would become either a powerful utility tool that could perma-stun slower enemies while still being able to be used as a Nuke with it's powerful charge attack. And you can now use it against Oilers!

Celestial Saber?

Isn't a "stun Fang of Vog" basically Celestial Saber? Except that CS swings faster than FoV, and probably has a lower chance of status?

The chances widely vary between the two; FoV is probably 2nd to most consistent sword in terms of status infliction, just behind status Brandishes. The biggest difference is self infliction, though. That's what would allow constant and consisten flash charges and it would be nothing short of quite insane. I reckon OOO wouldn't like to implement something like that, though. It would just be too buggy.

Yeah, I did acknowledge the difference in chances. But I was ignoring the self-infliction and the status on regular attacks. So I was ignoring a lot. They are pretty similar, though.

I would make warmaster rocket hammer hav a 100% flinch on final swing and charge, its an absolute rip off when I try to flinch things and it NEVER WORKS WHEN I NEED IT TO

FoV spins around an extra time and almost always deals its status in strong. Fov is also split elemental, which means that its underlying damage values are crazy town, waiting to be unleashed with whatever damage ups you can find..... but really, the self inflicted and strong stun is what I'm after.

Wait, modify ANY weapon?

Make the Celestial Saber craft-able, alongside the Tortodrone fists being all year round. Same with Obsidian Weapons.

Say it with me now

Shocking cutter
Improved status chance on flourishes (brandish-chance)
Unbreakable-until-finished-being-frozen Hail Driver
Sealed Brandish (utterly random explosion chance between 2-5 explosions, each with a different status chance)
Lowered chance of status on brandish lines/ removal of 2 explosions per * brandish below 5
Change on cutter-line to knockdown on all hits until final strike, either branch
Plasma razor (say hello to the new 5* winmillion with a chance of shocking your enemies on a regular swing and burning them on the charge, high chance of low shock, low chance of medium fire)
Non-invincitink shards
Alchemers that rebound responsibly (physics, not rng)
Antigua that gives 2 piercing shots instead of regular on charge
Poison DBB (because reasons)
Kelvin's Coil (catalyzer that minor freezes on normal shots half the time, but when the charge detonates it's a mid-chance of strong fire)
Hydrogen dioxide gun (knockback only for as long as you hold button down, fires with valiance accuracy at blitz's rate, no damage)
Third Troika
Stunning Flamberge (regular shots chance at stun, charge gets fire)
BN bomb, set at rad 5, will drop instantaneously at cost of fuse time being BAB length for shard damage explosions.
Normal damage DR to watch the world burn
Gran Faust with Faust charge time

the spiral soaker

I would give magnus lines a 4 shot clip
and increase the base speed to the equivalent of adding asi low
and give callahan a working flinch rate on all shots of the combo
